I have Special K (with testosterone drops) every morning for breakfast, almost without exception.

I ate the same meal every day for 3 months of my life. It was called Basic Training and it fucking sucked. You loony tunes doing this voluntarily should be committed.

But I am probably overthinking this. Ultimately, I am partial to Vern Loomis’s analysis of what prompted his co-workers to poke fun at his peanut-butter sandwich: “Maybe [they did so] just out of good humor, or maybe guilt that they’re not eating as healthy—that they’re eating a greasy burger or something—or going out and spending $15 for a lunch when mine only cost 80 cents.”

Mr. Steinbrenner : No , no , no. George let me tell you something. When I find something I like I stick with it . From 1973 to 1982 I ate the exact same lunch everyday. Turkey chili in a bowl made out of bread. Bread bowl George. First you eat the chili then you eat the bowl . There's nothing more satisfying than looking down after lunch and seeing nothing but a table.

When I remember to bring a lunch to work, it's always a sandwich.

I bring my lunch to work just about every day, and 90% of the time its a sandwich with a yogurt, a few cookies, and a granola bar or a banana. Now of course I'll get different kinds of lunch meat and bread, different flavors of yogurt, etc, but still my lunches are very similar very day. Doesn't bother me one bit.

Some people meal prep as a way to lock themselves into a diet. They create a huge portion of a single meal, then break it up into enough dishes to last a week/month/whatever.

I try to do that when i'm at home for longer stretches. Buy some groceries on Thursday night after work, make something on Saturday afternoon, and eat it once a day for three or maybe four days. I try and load up on vegetables so it has a good amount of bulk for 400-450 calories a meal.

But then I won't make that item again for at least a month, sometimes three or four months.

You're (barely) not a psychopath.

I am back in a role where I go into the office a couple days a week. I hadn't done that for a few years. All these people talk about, think about, and dream about is food days. It appears as though it might be their only sense of joy. Pot lucks, birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, demotions, canker sores, Fridays, Tuesdays, election day, Earth day, workdays, weekends, you name it.

As such, I can usually scavenge something for free and without having to leave the office for the day. Decent variety, too.

I desperately want to work at a place where they throw an office party for a demotion. I'd never quit that job.

Consider yourself lucky you weren't born and raised in Norway or you'd be eating matpakke every day, known as "the world's most boring lunch."

Some of these women would manage to throw a party if someone announced they had a terminable illness.
