This is of more concern than any other problem, IMO. Not just this strain, but of drug-resistant illnesses. It's only going to get worse.

It’s hard to find symptoms on line, and all I’m seeing is fever that won’t go away which can lead to organ failure.

The CDC doctors better work fucking fast.

I think you need to read the article.

Drug resistant is not a reassuring term.

Big Pharma already has a drug for this, it's just under wraps. They will let lit it fester a bit more and then when it starts to become pressing issue they will release it for massive profits. Get with the program.

As much as I love a good conspiracy I’m not too sure about that one.

Hopefully, you’re right.

Slight difference here, Einstein.

Alexander Fleming's not walking through that door.

"According to the CDC, those who are most likely to be affected by C. auris are patients who are hospitalized for a long time, those who have a central venous catheter or other lines or tubes entering the body and those who have previously received antibiotics or antifungal medications. "

Unless you have a catheter hanging off your body or use an extreme amount of anti-toe fungal you should be ok.

It's not this particular virus. It is drug-resistant illnesses in general. Hopefully it's a problem we can invent our way out of.

Umm... So MANY people go to the hospital and get anti biotics. The drug is spread through rooms which aren’t thoroughly cleaned. Apparently, anti biotics make the infection spread. So when you go into a room where this fungus is present, and your doc prescribes you antibiotics your risk will increase, right?

I’m no doctor, but tell me how this is good?

Not saying it is good at all. Just saying it is not apocalyptic.

I've read in other articles that these tend to be underreported also because the hospitals do not want word to get out that they have such infections in their hospital.

Definitely not apoplectic, but still a concern.

Definitely more concern than GLOBAL WARMING. I mean, it's snowing in April, amirite?

Watch Our Planet on Netflix. You like animals so it'll probably turn you back into a leftist.

It's okay to admit that drug-resistant illnesses are an issue we will have to overcome in the future. It doesn't make you less of a man. No one is saying the world is ending.

OK, but that's in the abstract. 600 cases in a country with 350 million people for this one, I think it's fair to say no big deal.

I just want to be clear with the response I’m getting outside of my good friend Leash.

The CDC considers this fungus a “Serious Global Health Threat”, but the overwhelming response at CFMB is no big deal?

So the CDC = Infowars is the vibe I’m getting.

We aren't talking specifically about this bug. We are talking drug-resistant illnesses in general.

Then again, if you get your open borders, this one could probably become a big deal.
