I only know one person who does this. She's almost 40 and yeah, it's pretty obnoxious. |

I kind of have an issue with people over the age of 16 who celebrate their birthday day. |

An informal, "Hey we're going to the bar/ballgame to have a few drinks for X's birthday," is more than acceptable, if not fun sometimes.Planning your own party or celebrating an entire month is pretty out there. |

Agreed. I was once told about someone's friend named "Jane". apparantly, the entire month of January was renamed for her birthday "Jane-u-ary". My ex-wife didn't try and claim the month, but annoyingly claimed an entire weekend "my birthday weekend", "Mother's Day Weekend". doug, Your list is pretty reasonable, but to b honest....I'd be fine if I never celebrated a birthday again, so I'd just stop the list at 40 and add age 25, due to that being the age car insurance goes down. 1-16 18 21 25 40 |

All birthdays are an acceptable excuse for a bar night with the guys if married. Milestone birthdays are an acceptable excuse for a guys trip. |

It's a slippery slope to celebrating all year long! |

Last birthday I celebrated was turning 30. I can't imagine wanting to celebrate turning 40. |

I’m taking my birthday off my Facebook profile so I don’t get all the birthday accolades from people that check in with me once or twice a year. |

I don't see a problem with acknowledging one's birthday and maybe having a steak for dinner (and maybe a boom). Or going to a restaurant or whatever. Maybe some porn. |
