The Cubs’ new TV network, Marquee Sports Network, is working to add the channel into cable and satellite lineups, and that could add $4 per month to customers’ bills whether they want it or not, according to the Chicago Tribune.

That’s not the point.

Sure, you will pay because you want it, but approx 90% of cable subscribers will never watch one Cubs game. That is why cable TV is in such bad shape. People are paying 150 a month in cable and watch about 10 of the 300 channels they pay for.

True.. but 150$ month is chump change, I hate comcrap but for 140$ monthly I have an obscene amount of channel n options.

mlb.tv is half off for this holiday weekend.

i'm getting it free because I have it thru tmobile service promotion.

But if i'm living in chicagoland and I have to pay for to watch the cubs i would be def pissed off.

I won't pay for 2 sub baseball services if the cubs are not part of the mlb.tv package next year.

95% of your viewing is probably relegated to about 10 channels dipshit.

That's my point. You aren't getting any "deal", you're just paying for the Hallmark channel, and Court TV and a whole host of other shitty programming that you never watch. And apparently you are proud of this?

Where's Brick to tell everyone about the benefits of bundled cable TV packages? Cutting cable and streaming has been great for me.

Right here.

The prices are already raising quickly on these services with less channel options. There are still some desperate services losing huge money but they can't do that forever. I would barely save any money now and I get far more channels.

It is great for you because you don't really watch tv. I mean you are a Cubs fan i think who doesn't care about even watching them.

Agree, so you save what? 35$-40$ a month and can't watch any of nature shows, id channel or most sports.. that isn't a deal.

It is normally far less savings. Youtube TV is now 50 a month for 70 channels and I get a discount for having tv and internet. I would probably pay more to cut the cord but I watch a variety of channels.

What services are quickly raising their prices? My Sling Blue has been the same price since I joined 1.5 years ago.

I am saving $70 a month and that is assuming that Direct TV hasn't raised their cable prices since I cut the cord 1.5 years ago (unlikely).

But even if it is only a $35 a month savings, that is over $400 a year. For many people that is a significant saving.

Sling has raised prices on the orange package. However sling is a way to save money by getting a pretty horrible channel lineup so that are less likely to see a big price increase.

I'd actually be surprised if it was only a $4 net increase. I think they assume NBC Sports will lower their price by more than a dollar or two.

I moved out of town just in time. MLB package gets me all the non-national Cubs and White Sox games except vs. the Nationals and Orioles, and let's face it who the fuck wants to watch a White Sox-Orioles game that the players don't even want to play in?

I lose out on the ESPN and Fox national games. Where I will suffer is the playoffs - Sling Blue in Chicago gets me Fox OTA, Sling Blue in NC only gets me Fox Sports South because the network affiliate is not owned by Fox.

Is there a package where you can get 2 teams? Or do you have the full package?

Directv Now keeps increasing their price.

I’m less than pleased, but the cost is shared.

I think there is a 1-team package. Otherwise the full one.

The Memorial Day sale is how I got hooked a few years ago. But if you live in the Cubs/White Sox blackout area, it is useless unless you want to watch the rest of the league. We've lost a number of great PBP guys in the last few years, Vin Scully and Dick Enberg at the top of the list.
