Shilling for subpar CPS teachers on their social media and store signage. Sad! I guess they need CPS teachers to get raises in order to afford overpriced, subpar Kuma's burgers. |

Those $15 burgers help the trashy waitresses get their heroin fix, IMU. It all balances out. |

It's nothing mind blowing but still adds a nice additional layer of flavor to the burger. Heard about Redhot Ranch but its hard to get over that way from downtown. |

I don't fellas. I think Golden Jet accurately identified Red Hot Ranch has shortcomings. If you are into gourmet burgers RHR will be a let down. Go when you're hungry and happen to be in the area and have a little cash in your pocket. It's not a destination burger. |

Does Kumas have a Dance Gavin Dance burger yet, and if so, is it topped with meth, rohypnol and a MacBook Pro that keeps getting misplaced in the kitchen? |

The starting salary for a CPS teacher is $53,000 plus a pension the likes of which the vast majority of the people paying for it will never see. A teacher with ten years on the job gets over $80,000. So what do you think would be a fair salary? We have some guys here who came out of college in the last ten years and took an entry level job with a four-year degree. How much more or less than $53,000 did you get? |

High school math, science, computer science etc is tough stuff and deserves a premium compensation. I don’t really mind the salaries...it’s the ridiculous undeserved pensions |

No idea if CPS is similar to the ‘burbs but the teachers who have it all figured out are the high school gym teachers. They’re all former jocks who essentially babysit recess and then coach after school sports. It’s not lucrative work, but it’s definitely more compensation than what work/skills are required. And since raises are based off longevity rather than merit it’s a nice gig if you can get it. I remember looking up some gym teachers at Buffalo grove who were making more than physics teachers |

If you are a teacher teaching at a school in an impoverished neighborhood an argument can easily be made that you are in fact underpaid. |

Being a cop or fireman is valued more by our society than being a teacher. It's fucking insane. It's why we're 24th out of 25 educational systems in literacy. The people who are responsible for our future leaders are underpaid and underappreciated. https://www.newyorkfed.org/research/col ... ajors.html |

I'd be fine paying teachers a higher salary in exchange for capping pensions at $40k and making them wait to 65 years of age to collect them. |

They invest time in our kids that parents from all socioeconomic backgrounds aren't willing to invest. |

What they have to deal with expends well past the realm of just "teaching and learning". |

Before there was an acknowledgement of lower pay for job security and a decent retirement. Firemen die all the time, and the ones that dont because a roof or something fell on them wind up with cooked lungs or mesothelioma. I know the on-job fatality rates for cops are not atrocious but they get seriously injured at work all the time. Car accidents, falls, non-fatal gunshot wounds...pretty common. And then there's the PTSD. Meanwhile teachers get loads of time off and the same fat pension. And they're all incompetent. Seriously if you have any idea what you're doing you dont become a teacher...you get out there and do it. I didn't even go to CPS and the amount of wrong information I got from teachers is staggering. They are fucking idiots who are only good at these labour movements. |
