Mike Trout is the greatest players for the analytics baseball fan.

He checks off all their number obsessed boxes and they claim him as the greatest player of all time.

Funny but for a non analytics baseball fan, I give you he's good, but tell me when the last time he delivered a big hit or got his team into the playoffs or advanced deep into the playoffs? That's right, you can't.

There's nothing memorable about the guy. He's not a leader, he doesn't make the players around him any better.

He's a good player, but not the greatest as these nerd generation of number lovers want you to believe.

You're right, Mike Trout sucks because he's not a good pitcher.

Mike Trout didn't give Albert Pujols and his roided up legs a ridiculously long contract that destroyed the franchise.

Nor did he give CJ Wilson about $40M to be the savior 3rd starter.

Despite what Hawk Harrelson says, TWTW is overrated.

Trout is this generation's Frank Robinson, except the Angels had the presence of mind not to trade him.

Kick it up a notch. He's better than Frank Robinson. Trout is Mickey Mantle or Willie Mays.

And you are wrong about Trout.

HY is right. Trout isn’t even a very good bunter.

hawaiiyou probably thought Craig Krenzel was going to be great because he won at OSU and had TWTW and had that game winning drive during his 3 game winstreak as a bear.

If this is trolling, then may I suggest that you read LTG or vitoscotti to help you with your game.

If this actually a serious post, then re-read Chet's and JLN's responses until they sink in.

Mike Trout is probably one of the Top 5 players to ever play the game.

I've not really heard any dispute to that in at least the last few years...until now.

Griffey Jr. Also lead his team to the playoffs when he took a HR away from Lou Collins.

I still cant get over the casting of that guy as an MLB player and lead-ish role in a movie. Just awful.

That guy is an annoying supporting cast member, nothing else.

Agreed, casting someone that forgettable that close to the lead is pretty tough, especially after the performance Busey turned in as Chet Steadman (basically the same role) in Rookie Of The Year a year earlier.

Interesting that Aaron had only one MVP and no second place finishes. Griffey had one win and one second.
