Because you're right: If McNeil is replaceable now because of his salary and proximity to retirement, he was certainly replaceable when you gave him new paper as this pandemic wore on. Maybe they gave him his sunset deal as a thank you for coming in and saving the station's bacon after Bernstein & Goff tried to light it all on fire or something like that. |
