you fucking assholes.

played the same pick4 number for the past 6-7 years; mid-day and evening draws. never missed 1 draw. the result? a terrible 2 boxes and no straights over the past 6-7 years. lame fucking number, i guess.

last week, decided to save $40 from a draw and only play 1 draw a day, the mid-day.

you guessed it. it came in last night when i didn't play it and $131,000 stays with them.

either you guys are the fucking assholes or i was born an asshole.

morale of the story? you can't win if you don't play but, if you do play, you don't win.

yeah, i'll be alright..i don't need to eat cat food.

i guess there's a certain amount of time that's acceptable for your number to come in after you stop playing it. maybe 4 months?

this number came in - and i had played it for the mid-day.

I want to make sure I'm understanding this right.

You've played two times a day, every day, for the past 6-7 years.

That's $8 per day for seven years, or $20,440.

You'd have been better off giving that money to me. I would have had the courtesy to give you back at least $20 over that time.

you reminded me of something.

There was a story on wgn tv back in the day about a guy who won the lotto twice! Like 2 weeks in a row. The big lottery too, millions of dollars.

they showcased the guy but it had to be some kind of fraud going on.

When I was a kid they used to have the drawings on the evening news. One day I gave my dad a dollar and 3 numbers and asked him to buy me a ticket. He shrugged his shoulders and said he would. I guess he figured it would be a good lesson on how not to waste your money on the lottery. I had my ticket and settled in for the drawing. Sure enough my 3 numbers hit. My parents were in the kitchen when I started screaming that I'd won. It was pick 3 boxed so it didn't pay much, but seemed like all the money in the world to me at the time. I've never played again.

no, much more than that. in regards to that specific number that came in - i probably lost $35k-$40k over those years. the past 8 months or so i was playing $10 straight ($50k winner) and $30 straight box ($81k winner for a straight) for each draw for that specific number that came in last night.

what kept me going with the pick 4 were the 4 other straights with other numbers i had gotten in the same 6-7 years. one straight was only a $1 straight, or $5k. the 3 other straights were $48,000 each.

if that number came up 4 months from now and i stopped playing it today, i'd probably just shrug it off. hard to get my head around the whole circumstance.

Voluntary Tax.
Never understood people's need to throw their money away on this or any other kind of lottery.

good story...and that's the only reason i play, to box.

when i went 2 years with no box with that number, i started playing it heavy about 8 months ago, straight and the box. loser number, started thinking about stopping playing it last week. a few days i only bought mid-day. yesterday, i only bought mid-day for it. it came straight with the evening draw.

I was waiting for you to say your dad pocketed the dollar and then started cursing when he had to shell out the money out of his own pocket.
