Blame the pandemic for minimal training for plowers this year?

Sunday schedule is typically lighter than work days (for local road commission plows), but you would think the drivers would be pushing to replace OT they have not had to date. The private guys need to be working to make payments.

Well if Crest really worked in Streets and Sans he will back me up .
Anyone in Chicago who is on Snow detail is usually put on call at least 8 hours before the go out. They guys at the salt piles are there 24/7 till it is over. They have cots there for them. The city is big on getting at least one layer of salt down before the snow comes ,so if there is problem it is in manegment not the drivers, they can only be on the clock for so long before they have to have down time. When I was with S&S I worked 12 hour shifts shoveling out corners. not the side walks but just the corners. I was expected to do 2 miles per hour

Strange how the streets aren't plowed as soon as Trump is out of office.

I never said you worked in streets and san.

I correctly stated that at some point your business benefited from elected democrats while you shit on the voters who put them into office. You never denied it.

Chas is only slightly more out of touch than you are.

A very passionate debate on my local town Facebook page..the admin had a meltdown over people bashing blows, and said we have no right to criticize a service our tax dollars pay for.

Again, not what I said, nor does it constitute anything close to a denial of what I said.

The silence is deafening.

Silly. When there is as much snow as there was this weekend, and the Lake Effect machine continues to put down snow for 8+ hours after the storm moves through, there is only so much plows can do. Its nearly impossible to keep up and keep all of the streets clear. There is nothing you can do except deal with it, or stay home until the streets do get cleared.

People can criticize any Gov't service they want at any time they want. Sometimes, their complaints aren't valid in the least. The last time we had a 10"+ snow event was Super Bowl Sunday back in 2015. To say we were due for a big snowstorm like this is an understatement.

Got another 2-3 inches yesterday during day and it just keeps drifting. Had a call at 7 this morning asking if I could bring a tractor to get plow out of ditch but they were too far in and tractor couldn’t get a grip on the ice from the freezing rain. Fun times.

i dont get it.

We had over a foot of snow.

Highways were like normal on Sunday mornin'.

So what if ur neighborhood side street wasnt plowed. They do a great job.

Probly too good of a job.
