use their app order ahead, walk in and pick up your bag of food and walk right out. no more 15 minute waiting in line. i guess this goes for most fast food type places

If I do that, how can I make sure I get extra steak?

The girl who works in our will call area was ordering food from some local place on Friday and I couldn't help but overhearing...everything was extra this, extra that, plus all kinds of substitutions. Just seems strange to me. I'll get no mayo on a burger/sandwich but for the most part I make very little substitutions on things in general, and I certainly don't see the need to ask for extra of certain ingredients.

thats just the way people are. when they were 3 they screamed in the cereal isle until mom let them pick 3 different boxes over a 10min selection process.

when i was a kid and said 'mom can we have' i immediately got hit in the mouth.

$7 for a burrito is hardly overpriced. I'm sorry you're poor.

$7 for a Chipotle burrito is overpriced. $7-8 for a burrito from a legit Mexican place is perfectly acceptable and in some cases given the quality of the food, underpriced.

Patronizing Chipotle for Mexican if you're living in the Chicago area is mind-boggling. So many better Mexican options.

It's not like we live in Rockford or some other culinary wasteland where Taco Bell is the #1 option.

As an aside I remember Goff saying he took condiments from Chipolte because the food was so expensive. Probably would have started throwing hands if anyone challenged him...

nomination rejected, you deserve to be treated like an ass for going to Chipotle. You live in Chicago, go to a real mexican restaurant. Even in the suburbs there are legit mexican places to be found.

Chipotle never claimed to be 100% Authentic Mexican. It's basis is the "Mission" or "Santa Fe" burrito. Sometimes I feel like traditional Mexican burrito or sometimes I feel like Chipotle. Just like Frank sometimes feels like driving 8 hours for a hand job at truck stop or a COVID vaccine.

Having grown up close to authentic “burrito joints” I was surprised when I had my first Chipotle burrito. I was like wtf is with this rice shit?

Have you tried Marmelly on Cass? Stopped in with the kids a couple years ago when we were in the area and liked it quite a bit.

Los Burritos Tapatios & Tacochela and standard market are all very good.
Alfredos - I haven't eaten what I'd order it's been catered or picked up it's good. Never tried Guac n tac.
I didn't really like Orale but others do. Others like Los Dos - I think it's okay.

All are superior to Chipotle

I haven't made it to Marmelly or Del Carmen yet. Bar Chido just opened. Because of this thread I might do that today.

Yeah, the only place to get a good burrito in northern Illinois is Chicago.

It's definitely worth a try. It was a Yelp recommendation for what it's worth. We just had some basic tacos, but I thought their food was comparable to many of the better taquerias I've tried in Chicago. If you're looking for "upscale" Mexican, this isn't the place to go. I have family in the area and would definitely go back if I am looking for something quick the next time we are visiting.
