Personally I don't care if a dude is a humanitarian or not, if they can play they can play. They don't have to be nice to reporters or cordial with fans. Get it done on the field or the court and you're all good with me. If you do anything illegal then you should go to jail. Anything other than that and its all fair game as far as I'm concerned.

I have never cared about an athlete's politics either. Right Wing, Left Wing, or Chicken Wing its all the same.

With social media it's increasingly difficult not to.

SportsTalk Radio too. That is when I first began to notice it. Mostly on the Score. I don't recall Chet engaging much in that sort of the thing. With Boers and Bernstein especially there used to be ton of stuff related to the guy as a person and not an athlete.

Olin Kreutz was a “bad guy” Neanderthal until he started working for the Score .

I really wonder how Jordan would've dealt with it all. He was deified by the time the Score started and he was extraordinarily controlling with his image.

Honestly I'm glad social media wasn't around when we were kids. I'm sure I'd have screwed myself.

With the cast of characters Jordan was around back then there is no doubt his image would have taken a hit.

 Probably. But then again once Juanita trapped him, Falk and his mother took great pains to quickly get her a townhouse and keep her pregnancy a secret as long as possible iirc.

Nowadays his mistress would probably post a pic of her bump on IG and say it's Jordan's.

But also he wouldn't be under pressure to marry Juanita either.

True. Funny how times have changed. It actually gives me more respect for LeBron now. But I'm old.

I always thought Derek Jeter had the right idea—cultivate the playboy image and bang whomever you want (especially celebrities). Wait to marry and have kids until your playing career is over.

Guys like Jordan and Tiger Woods should have never gotten married so young.

When I was coaching my oldest, I always made sure that he wore #2. When he got old enough we've been laughing about it ever since.

this is what made it so hilarious for "Sports Experts" to hate jay cutler solely for his DGAF attitude towards them. they would get so butthurt that jay wouldnt give them the time of day

Knowing Tiger’s family situation he was probably pressured into marrying. That’s why he came undone like a sweater after his dad died.

Yeah I was thinking Juanita but I was also thinking about the crowd that ran around with your old track teammate too. You know I know them all. One of his bodyguards told him to fall back on them years ago when they were trying to get just a little bit too close. They saw him as a real big fish. And he was

Juanita Jordan was just a little too swift for him back then. My ex saw her on some cougar stuff with a former Bears player shortly after she separated from Jordan.

I still believe that I remember her from the front room at the old Cotton Club. That room was a shark tank waiting on athletes.

The thing that Jeter did was to never have them leave the relationship angry.

Wasn't he the one who gave them going away presents?

I blame ALL of Tigers problems on the roids (that he never seems to get called on)

He was happy as a skinny, buck toothed nerd who had one niche skill in life.

That's all fine and good for the athletic part of life. The real money is made in endorsements. In that case, the athlete is asking for fan love.

He was sheltered in an unfortunate family situation and went wild when he got famous and free. It's not uncommon.

some athletes are their worst enemies when it comes to this. they party all night long and spend their money and go broke and ppl think they are the same party types on the field than off.

Charles Barkely did it right saying he's not a role model.
