He suffered for the same reason Lovie suffered - couldn't resolve the QB and offense. I would have kept him because everything else seems to be fine.

I don't know why not - the team could compete defensively, they just could not put an offense together. Bears fans know the struggle. Perhaps more will come out but it doesn't appear Fangio was incompetent at holding the team together, commanding respect, etc. They're just atrocious at QB.
