We’ll see if hillbillies gets the same consideration our coastal betters receive when they do the same. |

You mean like people saying they shouldn’t live where stuff like this happens? Consideration in this case means straight cash homey. 11 figures, unkind words notwithstanding. |

Just like people in areas constantly hit by hurricanes they should pay more in taxes to fund FEMA. |

Hearing as the Amazon warehouse flooded, employees weren't allowed to leave but were offered free swimming lessons. |

It's all based on your likelihood of high cost disasters. They'd pay more than Wisconsin but less than river dwellers and the Florida coast. |

At least when the Mississippi and Missouri flood it's mostly farmland that's flooded. And farmers are already welfare queens so six of one, half dozen of the other to bail em out. But this fucking town is situated on a river with mountains on either side...come the fuck on. It's a wonder they don't flood more often. Either they need to construct flood mitigation infrastructure or GTFO. |

Right. There are no big cities along either of those rivers.... |

yeah, but the big cities along those rivers have flood-walls and gates and water evacuation routes to push the water downstream to the farmers' lands that lack such protection. |

Yeah, St Louis has never flooded. |

If St Louis has problems with rivers flooding, there are measures they can take to mitigate and pretty much eliminate any impact of their river neighbors jumping their banks. Flood mitigation techniques that have been around since at least ancient Rome. |

When I lived in Arkansas about 10 miles from the Mississippi River, I always hoped that levee would hold up every spring when the River flooded. |
