Why do these assholes get preferred access at the DMV?

I’m standing outside in 25 degree weather while a bunch of schmucks who’ve spent the past five decades destroying the country get to waddle to the front of the line to their own special entrance.

are they still limiting the amount of people in a DMV or is this one of those tiny specialty offices?

Post subject:  Re: Old People

I assume limiting but I’m nowhere near the door to see what’s happening in there. They’re letting a couple people in every few minutes.

For all I know the place is packed with 70 year olds talking past one another about their various upcoming doctor appointments.

Yep. Got here about 15 minutes before open to a line of ~50 people that hasn’t moved.

yea that place is a shit show. Had to renew my license last year and got there an hour before it opened and was still 30th in line. They definitely let old people walk on in, but only a true savage would have an issue with that.

ive learned not to call people old. most of them are just lazy decrepit piles of rotting shit. some people never lose their ability to get around, because they refuse to be docile and take care of themselves. they dont bother me at all. its the ones who cant walk down the isle in a grocery store without acting like theyre in a sub zero blizzard that piss me off. fucking die dude its over .

I went to the Morton Grove facility sometime in the fall. It was great. I was supposed to take all these test, but they just moved me along with one of those new travel licenses. Be back in four years.

Lombard does a decent job of keeping it moving.

Naperville has always been awful

I've found that speed stick and Polo Blue cover up my rotting pile of shit body. People say, "Hey you worthless scum, hurry up and die, but you sure do smell good." I say, "thank you young man, will you take me to my doctor's appt?". Then I get thrown down the stairs.

I thought the limiting was just due to COVID. I had to renew my license in 2020 and also had to stand outside in line (Lombard), for about 2 hours.

Did they decide to just keep this up? DMV never ceases to amaze and annoy.

Check for online appointments at different locations. https://www.ilsos.gov/departments/drive ... /home.html

Same thing happened to me last summer at Bridgeview. Got there about a half hour before they opened and the line was around the building. I didn't expect it to be a 15 minute thing, but also didn't plan for an all day endeavor. Check on my phone and got a same day appt for Midlothian like 2 hours later. Was in and out in about 45min for a REAL ID. Melrose Park had some openings too.

My youngest did his driving test at Deerfield as they were one of the new locations open on a Monday. Not my favorite Secretary of State location to say the least.

Appointment only seems to be the way to go.

A particularly feeble old man almost took a header walking into the entrance ahead of me, so I felt a little bad. I held the door for him while a couple women held him up by his arms like it was Weekend at Bernie’s. I’m fine with a guy like that not standing in the cold for an hour, but I did refuse to entertain a story about his pulmonologist appointment next month once I made it inside.

How far out do they make appointments? I looked at lemont and lombard and got one to pop up for April 6th, nothing before or after. If you are pregnant you get bumped up and men can get pregnant now so that’s good

Post subject:  Re: Old People

When I renewed and got REAL ID I was in and out in about 45 minutes. This was 2/3 of the way through big Covid, still taking appointments that would randomly open up at weird times of the day that made you refresh windows to check.

North Carolina has appointments for drivers services although I didn't know that when I moved here. Pre-covid wait without an appointment was 2.5 hours for a four minute transaction for moving to the state.

But... driver's licenses are good for 8 years and you can renew online once before having to come in again, so 16 years between visits.

Plate renewals are easier, although not as easy as Illinois currency exchanges. Down here they charge vehicle property tax down here (I paid $452 this year on a brand new SUV) but as a result they have third parties which operate plate renewal franchises.

Hopefully the old timer has good insurance. With seeing a pulmonologist, its no time to play charades.

They do, but certain title changes and REAL ID must be done in person.

At age 63 I suppose I am in the OLD demo. Although most days I don't feel it. I do have some bursitis, however. In my right elbow, in case anyone is interested.

Last winter I showed up early for my appointment at the Lake Zurich facility. I was actually nice to people. Maybe it was some combination of that plus an impending snow storm which caused them to give me a pass on my two written exams and eye exam; the reasons for which I was required to renew in person rather than on-line.

Can a man who gets transgendered to a woman get pregnant now and get special privileges in the DMV? Sounds unfair to me :drunken:
