Sporting events are delayed 1-2 minutes intentionally to protect the bookies. Thought it was just the NFL, but it’s affecting baseball too. The games are not live anymore.

Another argument for watching over the air with an antenna.

Just stream on the app. The delay is from the X1 box.

Is this because people are making in-game bets that have already happened before the apps can update?

It would make no sense if this was gambling related. People can bet at the stadium while watching it on a .0006 second delay.

Yeah it's bad. I have a group chat with my cousins that live in CA, TX and FL, and I have to mute them on game days because they know what happens a good 30-60 seconds before I do. Even reading Twitter during the game is bad.

Put the streaming app on your television. Use that for games that matter to you. The delay is from the cable box.

My kids are away at school, and often we'll be talking on the phone while watching a game "together", and they try to not have an instant reaction because they know I'm 30 seconds behind.
Even in my house, 2 different TV's that are 30 feet apart will have a 5 second gap between each other.

Happens to me all the time. Recently my son was at the panthers game and we were watching on youtube tv with our slow internet in Wisconsin. Here comes a "welp" text. Sure enough 30 seconds later the Panthers scored their opening TD.

Fanduel has Betvision, didn't realize you could watch entire games that way. I just thought it was showing clips at first. But you can login to your fanduel account and select a game and watch it in closer to real time. Usually a down+ ahead of youtube tv feed. I dunno about cable.
