Ok. I get that cheese and dough are getting expensive.
But I got charged $6 for 3 toppings, (pepperoni, onion and green pepper),
and there's only a thin (and I mean THIN) layer of cheese, barely any sauce, and the fuckin thing cost $25.
Fuck you and your dry cheeseless pizza, Rosatis.
I'm wondering if I should tell them why I won't come back?

What size pizza did you get?

Were you not aware of the price before you ordered the pizza?

I didn't place the order, I just went to get it. Wife said they didn't tell her the price after ordering, they just said 40 minutes.

Thats a lot of money for a pizza that isn't stuffed, deep dish, or doesn't have double cheese.

Large double dough (what I would call regular dough usually, more than thin crust, but certainly not stuffed) with pepp, onion, green peppers (each topping $1.99!!! JESUS that's a lot of money for a single green pepper's worth of topping)
The cheese was so damned light it was like just kinda there, not really a nice thick layer of cheese like you generally expect in pizza.

I wouldn't order from there anymore. You may want to call and talk to the GM, tell him that with the quality (or lack thereof) and prices they are charging, they are losing you as a customer and probably lots of other people. It could be that it was just a crappy-ily (making up words!) made pizza, because generally everything is done by weight so they should be consistent.

I voted yes.

They recently opened a Rosati's in Champaign, and I can vouch for the fact that they are both overpriced and lacking in quality. I support your douchebag nomination.

I would be more pissed about 40 min to pick-up. I expect no more than 30 for pick-up.

I actually order more sauce when I get Rosatis but they charge for that too. :rambo:

Rosati's are individually owned, so the quality differs from place to place. I would definitely call, and talk to the owner, and let him know your dilemma. It's not like there is a shortage of pizza joints, and you can't go somewhere else.

I would agree with this, I used to go to the one in Schaumburg (Golf Rd I think) for their lunch buffet quite regularly many years ago when I was working in Palatine. Was quite good.

They're not painful at all, as long as they put you under. First you're laying there on the table counting for the doctor and then the next thing you know, you're in the recovery area.

By the way, I voted "yes" that Rosati's is a d-bag.

It wasn't like this a couple months ago. i used to go there for Za whenever we had guests or what not. Just got shitty this time.

You have to know the price of a pizza before ordering it. I voted no.

How would they know to tell you the price before you ordered it?
And, I didn't order it. They very well might have told the wife. I don't know for sure.
the overall price isn't my issue. The fact that they charge $2/topping is pretty fuckin pricy to me. Especially for veggies.
The issue was the quality of the pizza. It was dry, hardly any sauce. And they seriously sklimped on the cheese.
When you order a takeout pizza, you shouldn't be able to make out the individual shreads of cheese but in on this pizza you could.

Ive not had a good experience with Rosatis yet. They are not the only ones that have gone up price, most pizza places are running up in the 20 to 25 dollar range for a two ingredient 16" pie. We just make our own most of the time. Its cheaper and tastes better if made right.

The prep is the painful part. The actual procedure is nothing.

As for the dilemma at hand, I would have called Rosatis and requested to speak to the manager. I would have told him the issue and I would suspect they would have sent out another pizza to your liking. I recently did this at Lou malnatis and complained that I paid for butter crust and didn't get it. They sent a pizza over an hour later and everyone was happySo while the price was excessive (someone should have asked for a total before picking it up) - if they don't have a chance to make good on the order, I cannot find them being a douchbag and vote no.

So is it the condition of the pizza, or the price of the pizza?

It's both.
$2/topping is excessive.
there was hardly any cheese or sauce on this pizza.
The price was acceptable (barely) until I actually saw this pizza.
The price isn't why they were douchebagged. It was the pizza for the price combo. You pay $25 for a pizza and you don't expect it to look like what I received.

$25 for a large pizza no matter what is on it is excessive. $25 for a bad pizza is reason to be pissed.

Should have used a coupon. I always get Rosati's coupons in the mail

Probably could have gotten a free cheese pizza, 2 Liter, breadsticks, $3 off, something....
