Good Morning CSFMB! It’s Friday and it’s time to vote for some douchebags! Let week’s winner, Bonnie Sweeten, won nearly half of the votes to capture the 25th Douchebag award of the 2009 season. This week represents the final vote of the second quarter, so next week, we’ll have the second quarter DoucheOff, and we’ll name our top 4 candidates of the 2nd quarter. Here are this week’s nominees: Oklahoma State Trooper tries to arrest on duty paramedics: Mr. Hernandez (that name is starting to give me high school Miss Havisham flashbacks for some reason…) nominated the Smokies who pulled over an ambulance for “failure to yield” to a police vehicle with its emergency lights on (there were transporting a patient to the hospital). They managed to put a choke hold on one of the paramedics, threatening them with arrest, for pretty much nothing. Do these Troopers have a shot at winning this week’s award? I’m sorry, but these two: kerchungathunk nominated two Eastern Illinois University students for allowing the accident to happen that cost them their lives. It seems they were riding on top of a double decker party bus when Justin Sleezer and Cameron Chana stood up just as the vehicle was crossing under I-57, causing them to suffer massive head injuries as there wasn’t enough clearance. Do these guys really deserve the nomination? CVS: BigFan nominated CVS for locking up their condom supply, forcing One-T to go over to the designated condomlady who had to open the condom locker. Admitting he has sex, BigFan was humiliated by having to answer questions such as “why those?” and “Spermicidal? Is that good?” We here at the DOTW home office think that he should have asked the lady for a dressing room, to make sure they’re a good fit, but you don’t always think of things like that in the heat of the moment. Anyway, is CVS guilty of Douchebaggery for forcing BigFan into human interaction while buying rubbers? Whoever shot this guy: In a rare non-video game related post, lipidquadcab nominates the guy who shot abortion doctor George Tiller. For those of you on Pluto, Tiller was a prominent late term abortion doctor who was scraped off the planet by Scott Roeder with a pistol in front of Tiller’s church. We can argue the abortion right vs. wrong thing all over again, but this nomination is about the actual shooting of an unarmed man, in front of his church and family, and it’s about lipid, who came out of his digital world to breathe some natural oxygen again. Is Roeder a Douchebag? Bill O’Reilly: A tragedy can never go by without some laying blame against those who were never really directly responsible. Nas nominated O’Reilly for going after Brian Williams for his montage of O’Reilly clips where he, well, BillOReilly’s Tiller for his late term abortion views. O’Reilly does go off the cliff a little bit by claiming NBC is behind roadside bombs, and another completely unrelated shooting. Ok, I submit to you that this is probably douchy but… is it worthy of the week’s Douchebag award? Remember, we’re voting on this nomination, not on a lifetime achievement of Douchebaggery, so please vote based on the nomination only. Lebron: Bagels has nominated Leborn James for not participating in the handshake and “goodgameyeahright” ritual normally associated with eliminating a team from the playoffs. He does come off as a bit of a poor sport, but he did say he had congratulated them in private. Or does the public need to see the handshake? Puckhead thinks we put too much emphasis on maturity and respect. But don’t children learn how to lose by watching/playing sports and acting in a sportsmanlike manner? It’s deep Chicago! Well these are your final nominees of the 2nd quarter, so get to voting! |

Not a real strong week in the DB arena. But it's a rare occassion that a professional athlete who has reached "Superstar" status, displays the lack of class and sportsmanship that LeBron showed this past week, in failing to congratulate the Orlando Magic players, after their series concluded. It was a faux pas of the highest order and will be remembered for many years. Does it make him a really bad guy....NO. But a Douchbag-Hell yeah!! |
