Good afternoon CSFMB! It’s Friday and it’s time to vote for some douchebags. Last week we awarded the DBOTW honors to KC Johnson for sitting on the Garpax/Del Negro scrap and also to Milton Bradley for being a Sillynanny. They will be entered into the semifinals coming up at the end of the 2nd quarter, which is actually quite a ways off still. Anyhow, this week we’ve nominated several Major League teams, their owners and some players so here’s this week’s DBOTW, BASEBALL SPECIAL! Cardinals/Mets: Nominated by lipidquadcab for not being able to score. You would think that Lipid would feel some empathy for these poor lads, but alas, a douchebag nomination. This went something like 20 innings before it was all over. Is this lack of scoring douchebag worthy? If so, who else will be nominated??? KFC: newper brought the nomination because of KFC’s “Buckets for the Cure” campaign, in which a small donation is made to Breast Cancer foundations for each bucket of chicken sold. Apparently, KFC thinks that uncontrolled heart disease is just collateral damage in the quest to end breast cancer. Is KFC being hypocritical? Is this like Phillip Morris donating $1/pack to glaucoma research? Please vote! Ricketts family: Chaspoppcap has nominated the Ricketts for their continued cashing out of Wrigley Field. This time, they’re setting up a Big 10 football game featuring the most hapless teams in the Big 10 to play at Wrigley. While losing teams taking up residence at Wrigley is nothing new, this looks to chas like ownership looking at fluff and perception, instead of wins and playoff appearances. Is he right? Some Jag on eBay: Douchebag ran into a Judge Advocate General on eBay and it seems he was willing to try to lie, cheat and steal to get a $10 rebate on some boxed set that he purchased. The JAG claims that the insert booklet was not included, Douchebag says it was and he’s got proof. The dude threatened bad comments if he didn’t get some money back, and DB told him FU. Turns out he put a bad review of DB up when he didn’t get his 10 spot. Is he a douchebag? Directv / installer: Everyone loves Bagels. Except for DirecTV. The guy they sent out was having what we’d call technical difficulties, missed appointments, didn’t call when he should have, couldn’t hook up the cables correctly and left several days later without the job done right. Maybe he was fishing for a tip, maybe he wanted to munch a bagel. Hard to say, so we’ll leave it up to you, DBOTW voter! My Buddies Wife: BigFan’s complaints about his buddies wife are chronicled here in this thread. I guess she’s too clingy, too phone calley, too latey and too female. Sounds about right for women to me. I guess BigFan might not have much experience with the fairer sex. But, he might be right, I mean, why must women always be late for everything? If his buddy’s wife is a douchebag, vote! Apple: Ugueth Will Shiv You has nominated Apple for their part in a criminal investigation where the company is calling the “theft” of a prototype iPhone a felony. It was left in a bar by an Apple employee (no word on if he was distracted by a big Irish fellow or the possibility of dry fingering someone), picked up by a 3rd party and sold to web site Gizmodo for analysis. Was Apple the victim of a felony theft, or was it just some careless boob in charge of the phone? Gotta vote! Yankee Baseball: Urlacher’s missing neck was offended by A-Rod running across the mound during a game, and also by a play at the plate in which the catcher was unnecessarily run over. This brought out the meatbally stoneroses, who naturally defended the actions of Baseball’s most storied, overcovered, over roided team. There’s unwritten rules in baseball, things like not trying to break up a double play with a hard slide when you’re up by 8 runs, not throwing the ball behind a batter…etiquette that makes a sport a civilized sport. If these rules get broken, clean or not, are the players douchebags? Judge Thomas Gainer Jr.: This is the judge that threw out DUI evidence against a CPD officer who was accused of killing two people in an alcohol fueled accident. This whole story is strange and so were some of the oddball comments from a certain poster who shall remain nameless. Walkerman5 put this nomination in to comment on the judge that seems to suffer from a lack of judgement, but it turned into a bit of a us and them kind of thing about the CPD in general. But the question is, is the judge a douchebag for cutting back the evidence to the point where the drunk might walk? You vote! You vote now! Jeff Ireland (Miami Dolphins GM): Krazy Ivan nominated Ireland both for asking Dez Bryant if his mother is a prostitute and also for the bullshit apology that came from it later, once the firestorm of the question had hit the main street media. The question was certainly douchebaggy, I can’t imagine saying anything like that to anyone, but, was his douchebagginess compounded by claiming that these were necessary “in-depth questions”? Is Krazy Ivan sniffing Krazy glue? You must vote! There's your choices this week. Please help us determine Douchebags avatar for the next couple weeks! |
