I got a new doctor about a year and a half ago. The 4 times I've had to come in (back issues, blood work followups), the fucker has made me wait at least 45 minutes past my appointment time to finally see the doctor. I'm typing this as I sit in his waiting room for my 2:15 appointment. It's now 2:58.

Fuck you, doc! I'm firing your stupid ass after this meeting. If this was an isolated incident, I'd let it go. But this is every goddamn time.

I don't go to the doctor for that reason. They make me wait and then they tell me stuff I don't want to hear or ask me stupid questions. "You're going to need this medication to treat that STD." "Does your wife know this woman is having your baby?"

C'mon Ed, he's a delicate genius.

Update:

I finally got in to see the "delicate genius" (I like that, Frank. Kudos) at 3:15, which was a full hour after the appointment was scheduled. I respect the profession and know I can't do what they do, but seriously, like I said before, this is a pattern, not an isolated incident.

I'm more calm now than I was in the waiting room. I have some stuff going on in my life that definitely caused me to fly off the handle on this, but I appreciate the "funny" you guys bring. Most of you, anyway.

Eff you, Dr. Ken. :P

GEORGE: I love these people, you can't ask 'em questions. (getting

excited) They're so mentally gifted that we mustn't disturb the delicate genius

Unless it's in the confines of an office. (worked up) When huge sums of money

are involved, then the delicate genius can be disturbed!

I had a similar experience with my last surgeon- not my doctor of choice, but of convenience. None of my follow-up visits were on time, and the last was almost 2 hours late. I had not been happy with his work from the start, and there were complications (when the physical therapist is getting stabbed by the wire used to reattach your Achilles tendon, it ain't good!). He was COMPLETELY SURPRISED when I went all Boyd on him, like he had no idea he was even late. I could have gone home and come back if they had only told me...

In a former life I did only Medical Real Estate for Doctors and Hospitals.

Pretty much can tell you every doc I met was an inconsiderate asshole, especially regarding time.

Good friend of mine is an OBGYN, he lives on his own schedule, thus I rarely plan anything with him. No, it is not due to patients.

Most OBGYN's are that way with time, but it's unusual that it's not because he has his finger in too many pies.

Why I'm the first and only person to give you the proper kudos for that line, I have no idea. Nice work, Donald.

Good thoughts hiram.

Not to mention, at least with surgeons, that you can only estimate how long a surgery will take. Sometimes, their whole day gets pushed back because a 7am surgery went to 11 when it should have been done at 10.

It's kind of like when you get bad service at a restaurant. It could be that the server sucks, or it could be that the kitchen messed it up, or management has given them too many tables.

It's not like doctors like making you wait 2 hours.

2 hours is way too much.

When the doc is ready, tell them u need to finish a book.....u might need an hour.

Then find a new doc
