Mr SELLOUT!

Seems he is doing more commercial for Obama than Obama is doing?

Anyways, his latest commercial says that our economic issues are caused by the Deregulation of the Banking Industry!

HE WAS THE ONE WHO ALLOWED THE DEREG IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Which in turn allowed for this 'Credit Swap" bullshit Insurance of every Mortgage on the planet, which was basically financially impossible, creating Mortgage defaults everywhere and a close to complete collapse of the financial system in our society as we know it!

Maybe we lob some tomahawks in and call it a day?

I saw this as well and thought it was hilarious. In addition to advocating the repeal of Glass-Steagall, he championed the deregulation of the telecommunications industry as well, which has had disastrous effects on employment and the quality/diversity of programming available to the public.

Of course not...and Republicans were also the main architects of the deregulation craze of the mid-to-late 90s. But it is funny seeing Bill railing against the legislation he supported while he was president.

Totally agree TM...Clinton looks like a fool. And the "big business kickback" is a given on both sides. Not even really a point of argument any more.

Not even close, but I know a certain President who came into office and was going to reduce lobbyist ...which he did...

he reduced the number of lobbyist, but under him the $$$ of lobbyist spending was an all time high!

Lobbyist are just legal bagmen...or many of them are women! http://www.opensecrets.org/lobby/index.php

That's why I get so damn frustrated with the political system.

Clinton says we need to stay with Obama's plan.

Hello, it isn't working. Or does he have a "secret plan to fight inflation?" (At least Obama hasn't been as stupid at John Kerry 8 years ago. "I have a plan, but why should I tell you it?" was an AWESOME line during a sit down interview. Way to strike up confidence in the voter base!)

Also cracks me up when people buy into the Democrats not being rich, and that they are for "the working class."

Neither party is for the working class. You honestly think people like Obama/Pelosi/Kennedy/Quinn/Durbin don't have their own Swiss bank accounts and tax shelters? Those who think people like Michael Moore, Arianna Huffington, Robert Redford and Sean Penn don't take steps to hold onto their money?

Of course they do.

I don't have faith in any of them. But at least the Dems GENERALLY vote against their own self interest when it comes to taxes.

Except the part of not actually giving themselves raises and additional days off. (Both sides of the aisle do that, but I would believe Dems a lot more if they actually kept their pay the same instead of increasing their own income while talking about making sure the middle to lower income voters....I mean, citizens are taken care of.)

Does Congress REALLY need 5 weeks in August/September to be off of work? Really?

Personally, I feel the only way the system would work in its current form is to place a one term limit on elected officials. That way, they'd have to do the job they were put there to do.

People who get mad about Congress having time off are usually the same people who get mad that their congressmen become Washington Insiders and lose touch with the people they're supposed to represent. Maybe we should just run the federal legislature over skype.

No, not me. I know they've got phones and email access in Washington DC. They can hear me bitch at them while there just as easily as hearing me bitch in person.

:)

And that's the thing. Do you REALLY think those Senators and Representatives are actually spending those 5 weeks going around to hear from their constituents?

There is no way on Gods green Earth that Bill Clinton really believes that we should stick with Barry's plan. No way.

For the record, Clinton is alright by me, & I certainly prospered during his Presidency. Barry is no Bill.

No. Newt would actually sit down and negotiate with Bill. I'd love to see that from Mitch and Boehner,.

Clinton had drinking buddies in both partys. I have read numerous stories about Barry that claims that he is very distant with both Dems & Repubs & doesn't really have any go to guys or right hand Men that he considers confidants. No leader can be effective without having a core of people who he trusts & who go to bat for him with the other members of Congress & the other party.

Would they need to negotiate with Clinton because Obama is either campaigning, fundraising or golfing at the moment?

Yeah...that's a new phenomenon. The golfing reference is a bit dated though. So Mr. Reason, any thoughts on the big $ in politics that force this endless campaigning?

I find it funny that people who support the GOP, who's last 2 residents of the White House rank #1 and #2 in time spent away from the White House, rip on Obama for playing golf.

Oh and since you're ticket is finalized, the House Budget Committee Chair is out campaigning as well. So you kinda lose that talking point now. But keep going Reason. I'll even blow you a kiss 8)

When you don't know how to govern, you must campaign.
