Went to Doc today, and, as soon as she walked in she says , "Whulll, that's Hand, Foot & Mouth, alright!" Anyhow, there is no treatment necessary, as it it pretty common in kids and just runs its course usually in under a week, but she will have to miss the damn first week of school, which is a pain. Only slightly itchy, and an oatmeal bath relieved that. That sucks. Speeps Jr. had it a month ago. Fever lasted maybe 3 days, rash aboot a week. Stupid kids sucking toes. I told him a girl is supposed to suck his toes. He asked Mom. I slept in the spare bedroom that night. |

one of my kids brought this home from school, and i was unfortunate enough to contract it in the process. that shit is not pleasant - my feet were badly affected, and i missed about a week of work. like most childhood diseases, the older you are, the harder you fall. |

I had chickenpox when I was 14 and wished myself dead at the time. Miserable now preventable disease. THAT SHIT SUCKED. I am now waitng for the shingles but my wife is a nurse and has given me injections to prevent it but I still think I will one day wake up with a rash and then beat the shit out of her uncontrollably. |

About 12 years ago,I had adult chickenpox. I'm afraid if I get the shingles shot,I will get shingles. It's a gamble either way. |

I am with you though. I get it but who knows. If a small plane drops outta my ass that is the same chance. |

You missed work because of a rash on your feet? chuckle if you want, but this virus was no joke, especially when at that time i spent almost my entire day on my feet and working on computer terminals. my feet and hands were affected and very painful, and the virus is pretty contagious as well. when my kids were young i was always getting conjunctivitis too, fucking bad. it would clear up and the other kid would bring it home. glad those days are drawing to a close. |
