Not one of you had a doubt in your mind based on hearsay evidence? I, for one, would hope 12 people wouldn't convict me of something based on stuff people say they heard....maybe.

He probably did it, btw. But the prosecution clearly didn't eliminate all doubt of his guilt.

Prosecutors had to establish the most basic fact for a murder trial: that there was actually a murder.

Pathologists testified for the defense that Savio's wounds indicated an accident. But equally well-respected pathologists for the state said it was impossible for a single fall to cause both the wound on the back of her head and bruises on the front of her body.

Hearsay has to be used in context and appropriately. This is no different than a eye witness. Some are better than others. To be fair to defendants, we should eliminate eye witnesses too if we want to be more judicious in making sure we don't incarcerate people wrongly.

I had a whole bunch of stuff written and I think I will let Aggravated Sox Fan Bob and others give us a true lesson what this hearsay thing means. As a defendant I can see this making some nervous. As a dead or potentially dead victim I can see this providing some solace.

I understand what you are saying but I would like to see the phrase "reasonable doubt" be replaced with common sense..not every crime has a high def videotape of the actual crime..this guy is as guilty as they come.
