Brooklyn Nets? Yeah, we'll reschedule our game. Pittsburgh Steelers? We'll fly in on Sunday so we don't take up hotel space.

Oh, they dropped the "this can help with the recovery, since it will make the city millions of dollars" line of bullshit; so yes, it's on. They're displacing anyone who has been in hotels since Tuesday who can't return home so the participants and volunteers have a place to sleep. Such fucking bullshit.

I still can't get how closing down a city, hurting storefronts along the course, the set up, the first responders and clean up costs wind up "making the city money."

I only asked the question because there have been what appear to be conflicting reports whether the NYC Marathon was a go or cancelled.

I hate elite sports who don't just don't fucking get it when it comes to how much their sport disrupts the millions who don't participate or even show up to be a spectator.
