So the NFL "punished" Sean Payton by suspending him for a year. They have now "punished" Sean Payton by voiding his contract extension and making him a free agent after the year. So basically, the Saints now have to get into a bidding war to keep the coach that was suspended because under his watch, they did the worst thing in NFL history in terms of punishments. If I'm a head coach, I'm jealous of Sean Payton today. He gets a paid(I think) year off, and then gets to come back with Dallas, New Orleans, and the Jets probably fighting for his services. |

2-5 is probably going to be their best start through 8 weeks compared to the next few years...thanks for the memories, sean... |

Although really I think you can make a convincing case for any of the four guys as the worst. |

I think Bettman is far and away the worst. The rest are interchangeable. |

Good god man, its Bettmen and its not even close. Every other commish wants to improve the game. They might not be doing everything right but the intent is there. Bettman seems to honestly try to ruin the league. Everything he does is kaka. |

I dunno, Bettman is probably the worst and all, but commissioners are usually there to do what the owners want. Basically whichever sport has the worst owners will probably have the worst commissioner. |

Goodell has been climbing the ladder of DB level commissioners. He's got a long way to go to catch up to #2 (The Angel of Stern) and the leader in the clubhouse (Bud "Just strung in the face of evidence" Selig.) |

Why was this voided now and not when it was signed? |

Quite a doozy of a week for this fart sniffer. Here are his two newest dumbshit thoughts: Quote: Goodell said that the owners “teed up” the issue of expanding the playoffs from 12 to 14 or 16 teams, and that the discussions will continue in the coming months. Quote: “We don’t have any information that indicates from our data that playing on Thursdays in any way decreases the safety of our players,” Goodell told the media after the conclusion of Wednesday’s quarterly ownership meetings. “The injury rates do not indicate that at all over the years. So I think we start with facts, and the facts are that that’s not a risk to the players.” This goes along with getting dick punched by Tagliabue with the bounty case and the awful kickoff idea. |

I'm not convinced whatsoever the NFL would be worse off or the NHL better off if Bettman and Goodell switched places 7 years ago. |
