1. Shame on the Big Ten Posse for not starting this thread sooner. But it's ok, I got your collective back this time. 2. This thread should be 10 pages by the time ND beats USC next Saturday. And it shouldn't have anything to do with ND. Tressel cost OSU, and the rest of the Big Ten, a shot at the BCS championship this year. That's right, this weak-ass conference could have been the one to break the SEC strangle-hold on the national championship. But, now you're still looking up at the SEC, Big 12, Pac 12,....etc. We'd be looking at OSU/ND right now if not for the 'sweater vest'. But your venom, BTP, will be be misguided. Instead let's just sit back and watch the B1G bash ND rather than the deserving target. Bash NIU. Bash the Big East ( ). Bash......all of the other abstract reasons you can come up with. Keep going - but whatever you do, don't blame your fellow B1G brothers for your shortcomings. BRick, you're up first. The floor is yours. |

Not to step on Brick's toes but... I don't know what your point is, as we all recognize the conference sucks donkey dong this year. Not that I personally care, as I couldn't give a shit if all the other teams lost every game as long as mine won all of theirs. PS. NIU lost at home to the second worst team in the Big Ten. |

I watched the Buckeyes struggle here and there this year. I don't think they are #1 material but too bad they can't find out. I forgot, are they on probation for the tattoos for jerseys scandal? I'm excited NU will finish 9-3 after they beat the Illini. They might get a decent bowl. If they don't have a healthy Venric Mark to hand the ball to,it will be another NU Bowl loss. |

It's pretty nice padding our record year after year against the Huskies. As for the rest of it, Ohio State still probably wouldn't be top two. Computer rankings are too low. |

First of all spanky, love the signature. Was I bashing Notre Dame when I said they deserved to play in the title game even with two teams ahead of them in the standings? Second of all, what the hell are you talking about? We already discussed this. Though, with what happened at Penn State, what happened at OSU seems like nothing, we would and did agree that Tressel was an idiot. Also, OSU was stupid to not take a bowl ban last year with the hope that they would not have one this year. That's the true stupidity. However, as Irish Boy said, they may not have made it anyways. Also, beating Michigan and whoever they played in the conference title game was no lock either. I don't get what is so funny about bashing the Big East. It's a conference that is basically finished, especially if Rutgers, Connecticut and Maryland leave. As for NIU, get over it. I actually root for NIU, like NIU, and would be happy if NIU went to a BCS bowl game(just as good of a chance as a Big East team now). I just also know reality. I'm sorry you are so offended that I dared to say that NIU's QB, who literally had 0 other FBS offers was a hidden gem. I'm sorry you are so offended that I couldn't find a MAC offensive player of the year that had any BCS offers besides Cincy, who wasn't in a BCS conference at the time of the offer. Don't worry. You'll get your chance next year. You get to play Purdue again, which is currently the gold standard of NIU wins vs. the Big Ten. We'll have a new coach, maybe yours if we can't do better. We'll be rebuilding, and probably be happy if we win 6 games next year. Oh, and the Big Ten sucks, and Purdue sucks too. NIU would give Purdue a good game, but as has been pointed out, NIU couldn't beat Iowa, and Purdue is better than Iowa. Let's get to the real reason you did this. It's because you are a Notre Dame fan(much more vocal about it this year than any other year I remember) and you are scared to death that Alabama is making the title game. OSU would be a much easier game, and Notre Dame would have a shot. Hopefully you can overcome the fact that your second favorite team(ND) doesn't get to play OSU. May I recommend you choose Alabama as your third team, Georgia as your fourth team, and Florida as your fifth team? Then, you can celebrate NIU winning the pizza pizza bowl and a national title from another of your teams! |

Tressel is going to look pretty good in orange at Tennessee, me thinks. Unless he has some sort of 5 year, show-cause ban from the NCAA. |

It is possible that I may have overserved myself in the excitement over how the games shook out on Saturday. Just a slight possibility. |
