Makes no sense. And the explanation makes no sense either.

At least there aren't many people watching. :? :|

The coach is the DB. The officials are just following the rules.

The point of replay is to get the calls correct, not get it incorrect based on a technicality.

Funny. I thought when the ball carrier touches the ground with anything other than a foot or hand, he is down. You now, following the rules.

Obviously they did not see that or they would have blown their whistles.

It is a bad deal.

But the officials are just following the rules. Do we really want officials being able to side step the rules based on subjectivity?

I don't want them to be subjective. I want every scoring pay reviewed automatically - like they've been saying they do all year long.

I agree with you. For whatever reason that is not in the rules this year. It sucks for the Lions. I am sure it will be changed in the offseason.

Now that Chus has edited his title, I am in complete agreement. The NFL sucks for having it set up like it is.

Take away the challenge flag for future use and give the 15 yd penalty but refusing to review a play that would already have been reviewed doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense. I don't know why they put this extra rule in.

As dumb as Schwartz is, this is on the NFL. They have had replay since 1999, and they still can't get it right.

Man Grobber would throw a FIT if he were on tonight.

That's a bad hole of loop.

Will the League office now feel obligated to not punish Suh for his dick kick?

I haven't bragged yet, but I will now. I didn't pay for the growler. It's nice knowing people. I am planning another trip to the Two Brothers Tap House tomorrow.

I am not sure how anyone watching it on TV saw it correctly in real time. Everyone here was waiting to see the replay because it was so hard to tell.

HD feeds are pretty clean around these parts.

Yeah I am watching it on a big screen in HD as well.

Once you see the replay over and over again it is pretty hard to remember what you saw the first time in real time.

(Sorry, I posted this in the NFL section before seeing this thread...)

How about this hypothetical: Same play, but Kubiak throws the challenge flag instead of Schwartz (it wouldn't make sense from the Texans' perspective, but let's say Kubiak knew the rule and thus wanted to prevent the automatic review). What would the officials have done?

Said the same thing on twitter.

In OT, there was the play that was originally ruled a INT for the Texans defense, but the booth reviewed it and overturned it because it hit the ground. But what if Kubiak would have thrown the challenge flag before the booth reviewed it - would his team have gotten to keep the ball even though it clearly hit the ground (If it was in regulation)?

Gentleman, gentelman, let's not get bogged down into minute details of the game, but rather let's rejoice in the Lions losing.

Why do they continue to deny what everybody knows, that gambling is a huge reason for the popularity of the league?
