How do you not notice two inmates tie a bunch of sheets together, break the window, and scale down 20 stories to escape? And on top of that, you didn't notice for several hours and now they cannot be found. What a fucking joke. http://www.dailyherald.com/article/20121219/news/712199902/ |

This story is awesome. Props to these dudes. They climbed down about 20 stories to escape. Takes some balls. |

On top of that I don't understand how no one on the outside saw it....it's not like they did it in some secluded wooded area if i was walking by and saw someone repelling down a 15 story building that happens to be a correctional center, I might get a little suspicious |

Apparently they were in Tinley Park for quite awhile yesterday afternoon. I mean, who can blame them? ThunderBowl is the mad note. |

This was only the second escape from this place ever. I think they are doing okay. |

But seriously, the only reason there have only been two escapes is because the inmates obviously didn't realize how easy it was to escape. |

They reportedly broke through a wall using prison-issued dumbbells. WE NEED TO FOCUS ON DUMBBELL CONTROL, PEOPLE. |

Dropping yourself down 20 stories with only a bed sheet to support you is not exactly easy. This could have easily ended with these dopes splattering themselves all over the street below. |

A bank robber named banks.....that's like an ice cream man named Cone. Quote: During trial, he had to be restrained because he threatened to walk out of the courtroom. He acted as his own attorney and verbally sparred with the prosecutor, at times arguing that U.S. law didn't apply to him because he was a sovereign citizen of a group that was above state and federal law. This guy is fucking nuts, but thats funny.
After he was convicted by U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer, he said he would "be seeking retribution as well as damages," the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune reported. When the judge asked how long he needed to submit a filing, Banks replied: "No motion will be filed, but you'll hear from me." |

I wonder how they ended up being able to hoard enough bedsheets to be able to repel down 21 floors. |

The best part of the story: Quote: Banks was an aspiring clothing designer who claimed to be a "sovereign citizen" who could not be tried in a federal court. He acted as his own attorney and had to be restrained during his trial. Usually, the people who think that the laws of the United States do not apply to them are bearded, bomb-building white guys in the most remote, shit-in-the-woods corners of Montana and Idaho. Not "aspiring clothing designers" from Chicago! "Sweetheart, I think you look fabulous in anything with an Empire waist, but all your beauty does is distract from the liberal Jew-run media that controls the government and international banking." |

Climbing out a window is easy. The only easier way to break out would be walking out the front door. |

BC, you're obviously only discounting their efforts because you disagree with the act. I also disagree with the act, but it doesn't make it any less ballsy. |

Being dangerous does not negate the fact that all a prisoner at this facility needs to do to escape is tie his bed sheets together and climb out the window. This is how cartoons depict escapes. It has to be at the top of the list of things that need to be prevented in a prison. It is ridiculously simple. To say it was a difficult escape is to almost excuse the facility for allowing it to happen. |
