Man I'm getting fucking sick of this little trend. It's becoming much more prevalent. "I think James Harden is one of the best young players in the league. I truly believe that!" I hate this shit. Being an announcer would be remarkably easy, why do they all suck so badly? |

I hate this shit. Being an announcer would be remarkably easy, why do they all suck so badly? James Harden (or anyone else, for the matter) being "the best" of anything isn't a fact. Best & worst are all opinions. I'm glad you made this post after I voted for you. |

Isn't a comment prefaced by "I think" regarded as an opinion rather than a fact? |

Scorehead wrote: Isn't a comment prefaced by "I think" regarded as an opinion rather than a fact? What FavreFan is saying is that certain statements are so obviously factual, they should not be prefaced with "I think." Example: "I think ketchup is red." That's not an opinion. It is a fact. So the sentence should simply be, "Ketchup is red." |

However, if Stevie Wonder said "I think ketchup is red", that would be appropriate, as he has no way to independantly verify the statement ... we know it as fact, but he can't know it for sure. </SHARK> |

There are probably people who think Harden is overrated. Further, what does "one of the best" mean? Top 5? Top 10? |

I'm not saying I agree with FavreFan's statement about Harden. I was merely trying to interpret what he meant. |

Heinz briefly manufactured a line of blue, green, and purple ketchups. Be careful with your absolutes. And with blue ketchup. |

I hear ya, Bucky. Personally, I don't get the Harden love though. I mean, he's a really good player but I wouldn't build a team around Harden and hand him the keys. Some people are convinced that Harden is that guy. I'm not. |

There is something poetic about FavreFan getting mad at someone for realizing that their opinion should not be viewed as a universal fact. How dare someone think that their opinion is not arguable! |

Dr. Jack Never ONCE picked the Bulls to win it all with Jordan! Always said the league will catch up with Jordan and create a defense to stop him. Old school NBA guys never liked Jordan. ".....Jordan isn't going to turn this franchise around. I wouldn't ask him to. He's a very good offensive player, but not an overpowering offensive player." -- Rod Thorn, then Bulls general manager, after selecting Jordan in the 1984 NBA Draft (Chicago Tribune, June 20, 1984) |

I think Phat Girlz is on Oxygen right now. I think Phat Girlz is a cultural phenomenon. I think it's like the "Philadelphia" for "Plus-Sized" "Women." |

Saying he's one of the best young players in the league isnt really debatable. Of course he is. |
