I am going to say Pete Carroll didnt take those math classes! If not for him, Seahawks win that game. -Going for it on 4th int he 1st qtr? On the road? As a dog??? -Nice Lovie style management of Timeouts to end a half = 6 pts I dont think Seattle beats Sf, but they should have won this game! |

Mathematically speaking, you should always go for it on 4th and 1. |

Mathematically speaking, you should always go for it on 4th and 1. Not if you are at your own 10 yard line with one minute left in the half. Depends on the situation. A few years ago the Patriots correctly went for it on 4th and 2 deep in their own territory with not much time left, although they didn't convert. Always is too absolute I guess, but there are very few situations at all where the optimal choice is to punt on 4th and 1. |

Or if you are on the road and you have had a trend of wearing down defenses with your scrambling QB and anything you have got early is just a bonus. |

Pete Carroll continues the string of successful former NCAA coaches to go pro. |

He was mad that he called the timeout so far in advance, yet the Atlanta ST unit went ahead and snapped the ball and kicked it anyway - thereby giving them a free in-game practice attempt. As we learned yesterday, that is actually against the rules. |

As we learned yesterday, that is actually against the rules. So he was mad that he didn't call a timeout far enough in advance to insure that the freebee wasn't avoided? |

He was mad that he DID call it far enough in advance, yet they went ahead and got free practice on the field anyway. |

Bucky Chris soooooooooo doesn't care about the subject he created a crazy thread about.I do care, and I'm not ashamed to admit it! That's why I posted about him initially. And I still think it's funny people thought he was a liberal shill and that his numbers were fabricated to move the needle in Barry's favor. And that his high probability of Barry winning, meant Barry was going to blow out Mitt. Fascinated by that. But this. The Seahawks thing. Is bullshit. Fuck Nate Silver. |
