I have let you guys know my mother works at the United Center. She is a Stand Manager on the main Concourse. She is number 4 on the seniority list, that is how long she has been there. Well this year is her 72nd birthday. The Hawks are playing the day before. I asked if they could have Patrick come down before the game and just wish her a happy birthday, that is all not that big a deal. You would think they would with all the negative energy surrounding the NHL right now. I wrote a really nice letter about how big a fan she is and how she learned the game not only because she likes it but to better interact with her customers. Got a call Monday from the front office saying that it could not be done and all that they where going to do was send her an Autographed picture. To be fair, they sent a nice one. Framed with a personalized message and a certificate of authenticity. After a lock out that basically ruined the season. After costing any goodwill they had with fans. After both players and Team officials at every opportunity claimed they where sorry they where hurting people like my mother in the pocket book, this was the best you could do? Yeah nice gesture and to top it off they raised ticket prices. |

Not sure if you're aware but the Hawks are kind of in a hurry! At least she got something tangible and not just Kaner mumbling "um yeah happy birthday and stuff" |

You should have asked Kane to pay her cable bill. |

Try asking for Carlos Boozer to come down and say hi. He's a nice guy. |

redskingreg wrote: They don't owe her jack and were generous with what they did. Denied. Agreed. Let me get this straight. You actually thought that there was a realistic chance that on a game day Patrick Kane would saunter on over to the main concourse to wish your mother, a person he has never met, a happy birthday?I am amazed that the front office even acknowledged your request. |

I'd say a personalized, signed photo of the Blackhawks captain would qualify as special. |

That's fair and admirable. But to expect a professional sports team or athlete to care as much as you do isn't realistic. |

Next time you are at the Cell go to the picnic area, they named the area Ma's place after the woman who works there. Plus,I was hopeful because they let her get her picture taken with the Cup back in 10. |

You have simply proven that you love your mother. Obviously, a lot more than the Chicago Black Hawks do. |
