Are you fucking kidding me? 90% of the jag offs on motorcycles drive like ass-fucks. And everyone else is supposed to look out for them while they weave in and out of traffic? These ass-fucks drive on the shoulder & in between lanes when stuck in a traffic jam for crying out loud.

To top it all off, some state employee has the nerve to promote the campaign by putting the message on the (4) completely useless digital message boards they recently installed on I80 between Rt.30 and LaGrange? FUCKKKKKK WHAT A WAIST OF TAX PAYERS MONEY!! The board reads two messages: "Start seeing motorcycles" and they report the current number of casualties on Illinois roadways to-date. I hope all 330 deaths this year are motorcycle riders!

YES!!! It makes me ill that people are told to look out for motorcyclists while they drive BETWEEN lanes of traffic or on the shoulder of the road all the time. If they drive like an idiot, they put themselves in danger and it's not up to the rest of the motoring public to keep them safe.

It's a small percentage of riders that ride between lanes and on the shoulder. It's usually just a few morons on crotch rockets.

Q: What's the difference between a Harley, and a Hoover?

A: A Hoover only has room for one dirtbag.

But it's a high percentage of the motorcycles I "SEE" on the highways...

(If I rode a motorcycle, I'd do it too, which is one reason why I don't ride a motorcycle)

I have my motorcycle license. They were great on the rural roads of Champaign but here, with all the traffic, bad roads and bad drivers --not so much.

And iff you think the speeding and weaving is bad here, try driving in California. Seems like there are many more bikes than here and they all drive 90 mph between two lanes of traffic on the freeways. You can't change lanes without nearly clipping one.

Almost every rider I see drives between traffic or on the shoulders when traffic exists and they can go...Low %?

Was behind a biker yesterday. The fuckstick changed lanes twice and didn't use his signal once. I'm all for the open road but there are a lot of jackoffs on motorcycles.

No. It's a great nomination. The evidence is right here in this thread.

And if they're not driving like douchebags, they're revving their engine at 5am in my subdivision - driving 30mph in first gear

I dunno I think about that stupid bitch that plowed into a motorcyclist on route 12 a few years ago... she was painting her fucking nails while driving.
Less of a "see motorcycles" and more of a "don't be a stupid bitch" thing but still.

I don't have enough tattoos to own/ride a motorcycle. Also my penis is too big. And I have respect for others.

Good nomination Bosco.

20 years ago my uncle was nearly killed while riding his bike because some moron blew through a red light. Thankfully he walked away because of the way he dropped his bike and the way he rolled. There are a lot of morons that ride crotch rockets that ruin it for the responsible riders, and there are a lot of very distracted drivers that aren't paying attention to all of the road in general. I'd feel safer riding next to a group of hells angels then the dudes from the shore acting like a bunch of yaya's racing in and out of lanes as the angels value their bikes.

Absolutely. What angers me about the deal is the suggestion that a car hitting someone with zero coverage, driving like an assbag, is the fault of the driver of the car. But, if you're tailgating a motorcycle, you're as bad as the crotch rocket morons going 135 mph down the Dan Ryan.

LOL the guy across the street from me apparently all he does is bring his out into the driveway from time to time and rev the engine over and over. I never see him ride it.

Absolutely agree that there are far more horrible drivers than assbag motorcycle riders. But there are less motorcycles on the road which will magnify the d-bagginess when you witness it. Also, they are riding nearly unprotected which makes the asinine riding behavior even more puzzling.

And Redneckmommy, I'm right there with you. My brother lost his leg from the knee down on his Harley when he was hit by someone who ran a red light.

Post subject:  Re: The "Start Seeing Motorcycles" Campaign

What annoys me about this campaign is how it seems to be putting drivers of cars at fault. I doubt there are people out there saying "Screw motorcycles, I'm acting like they don't exist out there. Screw them!". No, it's more like that motorcycles are much harder to see, accelerate, decelerate, and switch lanes significantly faster than a car, and provide literally no protection for the driver so even with an accidental relatively minor mistake you end up severely injuring or killing someone when otherwise it would be a fender bender.

It's not really about horrible drivers. There are as many horrible motorcycle drivers as there are car drivers. Any motorcycle driver who is that concerned about "horrible drivers" should probably find a mode of transportation that doesn't turn the most basic of accidents into life threatening situations. I had a family member who had a pretty severe accident that almost killed him. It was "the other persons fault" but that only matters in terms of who pays. If he had been in a car, he'd likely have been walking away. Oh, even though he could have completely avoided being injured he wasn't "at fault".

"Start Seeing Motorcycles", more like "Start Seeing Motorcycles as dangerous and take precautions for yourself and your family". I can't imagine what it feels like to make a simple mistake with your car and kill someone on a motorcycle.
