You decide. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck- ... 33288.html Quote: Like many Chicago area hockey fans, Frank Miller wanted to show his support for the home team on its run to the Stanley Cup Final. But Miller, a diehard Blackhawks fan from the suburb of Park Ridge, didn't think a playoff beard was enough. So he decided to grow a playoff lawn. It's exactly what it sounds like. Basically, he just didn't cut his lawn. Sure, it was a terrible eyesore, but Miller put up a sign to explain himself: "PLAYOFF LAWN", it read, "Won't cut until Hawks win the Cup!" |

Miller is the DB. Park Ridge should have fined him, too. |

Disagree .... the guy is having fun with his own property .... don't like it? Don't look at it. People need to go find something to actually worry about and keep their noses in their own business. |

This guy's lawn aside, Park Ridge today looks significantly more run down than the Park Ridge of my youth. Maybe the town or residents are hypersensitive about it That being said, I vote for Park Ridge, and I didn't read the link. Fix your fucking street signs. |

Brilliant idea. I'm gonna not cut my grass again until the Cubs win the world series. Anyone want to purchase a lawnmower? |

I voted the homeowner. Seems to be a lazy move to avoid mowing the lawn for a couple of months. I have had neighbors like this before except they weren't using the Stanley Cup as an excuse. As a person who busts ass on my own grass it is frustrating when this happens next door. |

I'm going to try that, but change it to a White Sox Championship. Thankfully, broadleaf plantain doesn't grow that high. |

Just checked their Municipal Code. I didn't find anything directly related to lawn care. however, the Zoning Ordinance for new development states the following: D. Maintenance All landscaping materials shall be maintained in good condition, shall present a healthy, neat and orderly appearance, and shall be kept free of refuse and debris. Any dead, unhealthy or missing plants shall be replaced within six (6) months of notification by the City or the next reasonable available growing/planting season. Fences, steps, retaining walls and similar landscaping elements shall be maintained in good repair. The owner of the premises shall be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of all landscape materials, fences, steps, retaining walls and similar landscaping elements, and refuse disposal areas. Irrigation systems, when provided, shall be maintained in good operating condition to promote the health of the plant material and the conservation of water. |

It's the assholes around him that need to get a fucking hobby or something. I probably wouldn't care for it, but I sure as shit wouldn't take the time out of my day to say something to him, let alone be a jagoff and complain about it to some municipal figurehead. |

While I'd like to laugh at the "My property value!" whiners, sadly a house is such a big purchase/investment/asset it's hard to bash people for acting that way. |

I'd walk my pooch over there every night. Perfect length for my dog to not be seen while he's taking a shit in the lawn. No cleanup necessary. |

Plus, he actually mowed around the sign to allow people to read it. If you mow some of the lawn, doesn't that make the gesture invalid?? |
