Somebody understands me. Tipping is (& always will be) dumb and I detest doing it everytime.

How about you work at a job that doesn't depend on the generosity of people to get paid. This rule wasn't sprung on you last minute right before your first shift. And yes, some servers & cab drivers give me lackluster service because they expect me not to tip.

I hope he realizes likely 50% of restaurants and bars would close up within a month when they would need to start paying their staff more than 4 bucks an hour.

I can see his point as a guy who works at a job that pays less than barrista but you would think he would be sensitive to perpetuating the stereotype.

If memory serves, myself as well as a couple others had to throw in some extra money at the end in order to settle up to leave the deserved tip. By the time it was my chore to tally up the money...I did not know who put in what. Only that a few of us put in extra.
