Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman will get married next Saturday in Florida. They are sending out invitations for ONLY kids.

Things NOT to do if you are black and UNDER 18: Don't live in Florida, walk outside after dark, don't wear a hoodie when it is raining, don't buy Skittles, don't fight back and definitely don't get murdered and expect any justice.

I'm not say he should have been convicted of 2nd degree murder, BUT there is no way in hell manslaughter shouldn't have stuck.

It's the place you go to kill kids.

In Florida an African American mother with no criminal history can get 20 years for firing a WARNING shot to stop an abusive husband, but a man can murder an unarmed African American child (that he profiled) and not even get convicted of manslaughter.

George Zimmerman will make millions off a book deal. I think we will get an OJ inspired title. "If I murdered Trayvon Martin"

If you can't send them to the penitentiary, send them to the morgue.

I've largely stayed away from any of the coverage of this trial and its aftermath, but that is a rather fruity looking drink they appear to be enjoying. I might order that at the beach on a hot day but that is not a man's drink for a night on the town.

My favorite post that I have seen about the ruling was people saying to Boycott Disney and really hurt Florida tourism. Good luck selling a cancelled Disney trip to your 5 year old.

Well Sally, you see Mickey Mouse lives in Florida and as such is a huge racist and supports killing kids. Good night and sweet dreams.

Not admitted to Jurors
-A photo in which Martin shows his gold teeth to the camera while sticking up his middle fingers.
-Martin’s school records, which include a suspension from his Miami high school -- less than a month before his altercation with Zimmerman – for possessing a baggie with marijuana residue.
-Texts and photos from Martin’s cellphone that refer to or show firearms. "U gotta gun?" reads a text from Martin's phone, sent eight days before his death. The defense cited a photo of a hand holding a gun, taken with Martin’s phone, and another picture of a gun on a bed.
-Texts with marijuana references, and photos that show Martin blowing smoke and what appear to be marijuana plants.
-Texts and video that suggest that Martin was involved in organized fights.

AT THE SAME TIME, ZIMMERMANS PAST WAS NOT OFF LIMITS, BUT NOT ADMITTED BY PROSECUTORS?
Why Not? because they knew if they went this route, the above info was going to be admitted

-Zimmerman’s 2005 arrest for “resisting officer with violence” and “battery of law enforcement officer” after a confrontation with an officer who was questioning a friend for alleged underage drinking. The charges were reduced to “resisting officer without violence” and then waived when he entered an alcohol education program, according to court documents.
A 2005 civil motion filed by Zimmerman’s ex-fiancee for a restraining order alleging domestic violence. ----[Zimmerman counterfiled for a restraining order, and both were granted.

Of course I am sure someone will say, Hes giving the finger to the camera or smoking pot, thats not a crime. Actually, none of his past character traits are illegal, but they are exactly that...character traits and they mean something.

Cmon bigfan, you never gave the camera a finger? I bet almost every kid in country has either smoked a lil weed or gave the finger.

Done both, will probably do it again, the point being, they used a picture of the kid from when he was 13 to make it look like it was a helpless little kid just walking home.

I know lots of folks are shocked about the verdict. If you even remotely followed the trial you would know there was way too much conflicting evidence to prove that Zimmerman acted in an unreasonable manner.

If the situation were reversed, I wholeheartedly believe Trayvon would be going to jail.

That's the sad commentary on the justice system. That isn't Zimmerman's fault. He's still not guilty.

Who cares about the media spin with the pictures?

The kid was walking, breaking no laws and he should have been left alone or at the worst checked by police.

Not followed by a racist wanna be cop loser like Zimmerman

Dennis, who is shocked?

 And my comments were considered the biggest race baiting comments someone saw in 72 hours. Is that supposed to be code for something BF? Smoking marijuana and sticking your middle finger up makes you a punk? There is a large group of people that believe he should have died because he was a "punk" or a "thug". As I said on FB only you all know what's in your heart but that is a very strange stance to take.

The media spin has created violence, thats why it matters.
I agree he should not have been followed, maybe even harassed, but he probably was and he attacked Zimmerman, who then defended himself by shooting him.

The question will never be answered as to who escalated it to a physical confrontation

I dont believe he should be killed because he was a punk/thug or a wannabe, and I think everyone that sees that as the issue is just focusing on the simpleton views.

It was a trial of public sentiment as much as a legal one and the prosecutors tried this case in the public, rather than the court room as they knew they would lose.

Big Fan, the colors you've increasingly been showing here and elsewhere are disheartening. Take all the comfort you want in aligning yourself so closely with a bigoted ex-cop and his ilk.

I just think this was an attempt to create a Black v White issue by the prosecutors and really steer away from the case itself.

The picture is just an example of how this was scripted to become exactly what it became.

Do I think Zimmerman created an altercation and then shot the kid, yes. Do I think he should go to jail? yes, but if the legal system provides him an escape, then it needs to be changed.

Let’s examine the undisputed evidence:

1. The man thought the teen looked suspicious.

2. The man called the police to report his suspicions about the teen.

3. The man was told by the police not to chase and pursue the teen.

4. The man decided to chase and pursue the teen anyway.

5 . The man was carrying a loaded gun.

6. The teen was not carrying a gun.

7. The teen was not carrying any weapon.

8. The teen was carrying candy.

9. The teen was not committing any crime.

10. The teen was not trespassing, as he was walking toward his father’s condo.

11. The man and the teen met in a physical confrontation.

12. The man and the teen fought, wrestled to the ground, and punches were exchanged.

13. The man shot the teen with his gun.

14. The man shot the teen while both were on the ground.

15. The shot from the man’s gun killed the teen.

16. There is no evidence that the teen was committing a crime or about to commit any crime.

17. But for the man chasing and pursuing the teen, there would have been no physical confrontation.

18. But for the physical confrontation, there would have been no fight.

19. But for the fight, the man would not have shot the teen.

20. But for the shot, the teen would be alive.

This is what it was. Not scripted at all. As the parent of two teenaged sons, I really wonder where is safe for them anymore. A week & a half ago, I had to sit outside at night in a hotel parking lot to watch over the three teenaged kids that were with me in Louisville (then playing wiffle ball), to try and ensure THEIR safety. Now ask why and from whom.

As you can see from the link he didn't really look different 8 days before his death. The pictures were used in an attempt to bring national attention to a story that many people of color believe they know too well. The reactions are typically the same. A lot of people tend to believe they deserved it based on the way they dress and look. It very unfortunate.

I didn't believe Zimmerman deserved to be convicted of 2nd degree murder because the state didn't prove it but manslaughter was a slam dunk.

Actually it does. A civilian dispatcher has no legal authority to tell you to stop doing something. A police officer does. This was already debated in another thread.

Well saying he ignored the police sounds like he was looking for confrontation.

But there's no reason the State should have had a problem proving manslaughter.

I agree with most of it, BUT additionally the poor laws and I think the poor prosecution is something that needs to be examined as well.

I could not agree more that someone initiates a confrontation, no matter how, should not be responsible for the outcome.

One thing that really needs to be looked at is harassment laws. The fact that George Zimmerman was able to start following someone on foot with a gun and it was perfectly legal is just a terrible law. We don't live in the wild west.
