I don't think that's fair to say. I think a lot of people understand it would be a waste of energy to complain about the regime at this point, when there's no way to know if any of the moves they've made have worked or not. In 2016 or 17 if most of these young players have flamed out and had horribly ineffective baseball careers, I'm sure JedStein will be run out of town. But at this point...why even take anything other than a "wait and see" approach?

Nobody believes Theo Epstein walks on water. He just happens to be the first guy in a very long time (if ever) who actually had a long-term plan.

I respectfully disagree, the Cubs fan I am around will not shut the fuck up about is awesomeness. It is quite sickening. I don't hate the Cubs, but it really makes me want to root against them.

Do you really believe TribCo and McPhail had a plan? I think they were just content with treading water, being okay for an occasional playoff appearance, and banking on high ticket sales regardless of the team's standing.

Hendry had a plan, but it was a short-term "buy everyone I can and win now" approach.

Along these lines the stuff I see also forget that besides awesome Theo there are other teams trying to plan to win as well. I agree with this thread but I do not seem to get it from fans as much as the limited amount of Chicago media I can get. Mainly, its Bernsie chapping my ass the most on this.

Mc Phail was Theo well before Theo was Theo. He was the architect of a small market team that built from within both with talent and with an organization wide style of play that realized two world series and sustained success. He was the top young executive in the game. I doubt he came in without a plan.

Hendry hardly had a win now approach. He probably had the greatest assembly of MLB ready young talent in the league in 2003. But for injuries, Hendry would be in the pantheon of Cubs.

Jeff Passan is not a Cub fan and his tweet saying Theo got a good return is not an example of Cub fans overloving Theo
