For all of the times Rozner giggles and hints at knowing something he can’t share on the air because it’s alleged, he had the opportunity today to make me respect him even just a little. But, no, he whiffed. On today’s Hit & Miss, they interviewed Gabe Kapler. While nothing about Kapler’s numbers scream “PED user,” I highly recommend a Google images search to draw your own conclusions. Maybe he escaped serious suspicion because his numbers still sucked. It’s interesting to me that a year after MLB started PED testing in 2006, Kapler took a year off to play in Japan. There’s no way in hell Rozner had never heard the rumors I’ve heard, so for him to toss softballs at the guy and yuck it up about Kapler living past the age of 50 because he said he never took PEDs is laughable. What a douche. |

I thought the same thing, Ed. I always suspected Kapler. I remember him looking like a body builder with warning track power. I'd like to see how he looks now. It was refreshing, however, to hear how honest he was with his kids when discussing his lack of PED use. |

What a douche. Ed, First of all, go fuck yourself. I have been consistent throughout my career with athletes that were accused of PED use. Without a failed test, I never accused anyone right off the bat. No one kissed Sammy's Sosa's ass more than I did when he was inhaling steroids. |

Ed's Rozner hate is great. I wish I still had the Hit and Run where he ripped Rozner for saying but not saying stuff about Ozzie. All Barry could do was whine that it must be someone from his rec hockey league, as if that was the only reason someone could ever tire of his nonsense. |

I have a game used Kapler bat from when he was with the rangers. Probably has the value of firewood. |

Yeah, that was the last time I called in to that show. Both Rozner and Spiegel are guilty of this crap and yet couldn't take being called out about it. When I heard Kapler was going to be on, I called in and asked their producer if they were going to ask about why Kapler went to play in Japan for a year. I didn't know when they were doing the interview, so when I got back from my Sunday walk with my wife, I put the shower radio on, and lo and behold, it had just started. Glad I heard it, as it gave me more fodder for how much of a hypocrite Rozner is. All tough about guys he'll never interview and then a total puss when he gets someone on the air that he would normally giggle and imply he knows things about. |

If you remember, Kapler was some kind of #1super prospect in the minor leagues. He had a commercial before he ever played an MLB game that featured him all jacked up. |

Kapler was all about building his body and getting shredded...probably more of a priority to him than baseball. He was never really any good either. I don't put him in the category of guys trying to gain an unfair advantage and cheat. Whatever he did he didn't do for baseball he did it because he was obsessed with body building. I'm sure he looks exactly the same today. All the guys who solely wanted to cheat stopped and shrunk once they were either caught or done playing ball. |

Kapler was a 57th-round draft pick (1,487th overall) by the Detroit Tigers in 1995. In 1996 he led the South Atlantic League in hits (157), doubles (45; 2nd in the minor leagues), and extra-base hits (71), was 2nd in homers (26), RBIs (99), and slugging (.534), and 5th in batting (.300).[10] He was named a South Atlantic League All-Star. In 1997 at Single-A Lakeland, he led the Florida State League in doubles (40) and total bases (262), tied for first in extra base hits (65), was 2nd in games, 3rd in hits (153), tied for 3rd in home runs (19) and RBIs (87), was 4th in slugging percentage (.505), and tied for 4th in runs (87). In 1998 at AA Jacksonville Suns, he won the Southern League MVP award, as he batted .322 with a league-high 28 home runs, 47 doubles (3rd-most in the minor leagues), and 146 RBIs (most in the minors in 1998 and most ever in the Southern League). His league record for RBIs broke the 1986 record of 132 set by Terry Steinbach. He also set league records with 81 extra-base hits and 319 total bases, and broke the old doubles record of 44 with 47. He also led the league in hits (176; 8th-most in the minors), runs (113; 6th-most in the minors), and finished 6th in batting. He played in both the Double-A and Southern League All-Star Games and was recognized as MVP of the Southern League All-Star Game. He was also named to the SL's post-season All-Star team. He was honored as Minor League Player of the Year by USA Today, Baseball Weekly, and The Sporting News and USA Today, and was named Tigers Minor League Player of the Year and Detroit's No. 1 prospect by Baseball America. 57th rd pick to number one prospect. Wonder what happened |

I think I got his bat in 02 so that is when I paid attention to him and he was god awful from that point on. |

My dislike of Rozner is well documented here. He'll always tells you what was wrong after the fact and that he knew it all along. He just got done writing a big steroids expose about two weeks ago where he once again chided the media for not outing people and Bud Selig for looking the other way. Well Rozner, who have you outed? Well.....we're waiting. |
