Saw him beat out a grounder to the shortstop yesterday in the Rangers-Astros game. WTF?

Where was that hustle when you played here?

Rios plays hard when his team is good.

On a good note Avisail Garcia beat out a grounder to the second baseman yesterday and then stole second. Second World Championship on the not to distant horizon.

I never liked Rios ever since the time he being a DB to a fan that wanted an autograph.

On another note, the future is on the other side of town.

I'm no fan of Rios and I'm not sad he's gone, although I think his departure was just another example of the fine White Sox tradition of giving away assets for nothing. But there's some backstory to that video. Those grown men came to a black tie dinner to pester a guy for autographs. When he declined- a completely appropriate response given the circumstances- they sent that kid up there and started calling him a bum while they filmed the thing.

Alex Rios plays hard when the team is good. It is the remarkable player in today's baseball that acts differently. I don't understand the dislike. He did a nice job overall here, occasionally being the best player on a team with several good players.

Alex Rios played hard when he felt like it mattered to him. Other veterans on the team play hard no matter what the record is. Some folks are willing to take less from others when more should be expected. I'll never understand people accepting what they claim to be the lower common denominator.

It's okay, he has other "issues" with me at the moment.
