Leaving them in this neighborhood with virtually no security? this is just par for the course in the city I guess. http://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20130903/bronzeville/teens-charged-with-stealing-ipads-from-drake-elementary-school CHICAGO — Ten people, including a 13-year-old boy, have now been arrested in last week's looting of 300 iPads from a South Side elementary school, and police are still seeking more people. The band of suspected iPad thieves arrested so far also includes two 15-year-old girls, a 15-year-old boy, three 16-year-old boys and a 25-year-old man named Eugene McQueen of the 2900 block of South Federal, police said. |

Ah, I wouldn't go so far as to say there's no 'malicious intent' ..... stealing for the fuck of it isn't any more noble than stealing ..... well, it's generally always for the fuck of it - fractions of a percent are the proverbial stealing food because they need it .... stealing is stealing .... don't have to electrocute them, but you don't just make it no big deal either. |

It isn't youthful anything. Screw em. If you baby them, nothing will ever get better and they won't have any reason not to do it again. I'm not saying you should cut their hands off, but they shouldn't be treated like goofy little kids either. |

I am not sure I recall exactly but think the difference between misdemeanor and felony is like a $1k cutoff. Those pads value and being led in the conspiracy but a 25 y/o? Lock em up. |
