Len Kasper @LenKasper I know Hub Arkush took heat for picking KC last yr but give him credit for sticking his neck out. 5-0 shows what he saw in them a yr early Why does the media collectively always stick their necks out for Hub? |

Is Alex Smith really a difference maker - now, after all these years? |

I think I will give Andy Reid more credit that I am giving Hub. but I guess Hub knew Reid was coming to KC. |

Wont even mention they have beat a bunch of sub .500 teams. And todays test against a backup QB wasnt so impressive. Got some great breaks. The Muff punt return for a TD. The Int of Titan players hands. You take the turnovers, but they sure didnt cause either of them. |

Chiefs are the real deal this year. But there is no way in hell they were even close to being any kind of deal last year. Hub chuckled, giggled and totally whiffed. |

I'm starting to dislike Kasper. He's a big homer, never spouting a negative thought. He needs to step out more and so does his baldheaded sock puppet. |

Says the guy with big "L" flag avatar. Totally unbiased. Preach to me some more about how much of a homer the play by play guy is for the Cubs.... |

Gabe and Walker were the prototypes for the Ligues. Here they are right before they rushed the field all fueled up on Falstaff. |

Yeah, he definitely has his ardent supporters. Personally, part of why I was so high on Prior was he was the anti Kerry Wood...good mechanics, not a hothead, smart well spoken guy. Anyway, Id retire 16 before 34 |

Prior always came off to me like a fucking programmed robot. Wood is a real guy. I bet Wood would have no problem having a beer with you and that Prior would act like the biggest prima donna assbag in the world. |

No way he deserves a jersey retirement. They retire numbers and hand out statues to anyone these days. Ridiculous... |

Right, well I wasnt looking for a drinking buddy, I was looking for Pedro Martinez Also, Prior was likeable at first. Wood was a redneck hard throwing dummy who was wasting his talent, Prior was a smart, perfectly trained pitcher (robotic being a good thing) This was my thought process in 2001-2003 |

meh... len kasper wants it both ways, or hell, he wants it every way. he wants to be thought of a stat-wielding baseball intellectual who "tells it like it is" </kaplan>, you know, since brenly was prone to do just that.... he wants to be seen as impartial and objective and ready to criticize what needs to be criticized. he also wants to be mister cub.... you'll notice that his appearances got way more regular on multiple shows after brenly left (cuz there's gonna be no cutesy campy "len and bob" type pairing with deshaies.... no rock shows with both of them up there stroking their guitars.... just kermit and pal presiding over the game) and thus it's prolly a move that was suggested by mcdonough some years back when he started occasionally showing up on radio.... get out there and be a few shows' go-to cubs guest and represent the organization who currently doesn't have any faces outside of owners/management (if you wanna count starlin and superpud rizzo, then by all means... but your real faceworthy guys are in the minors, or so i hear) so yeah, no matter what kind of fan you are with your baseball sensibilities, rest assured len kasper has made an attempt to patronize you at some point. give him a chance guys.... he's the closest thing the cubs have had to a legendary broadcaster* since all their old ones started retiring and dying in the 90s! * = pat hughes doesn't count as a "legendary broadcaster" because he's technically a robot. you know when you see peoiple drive through a burger place on TV and they gotta shout into some chubby mascot dude to order? that's what pat hughes is, just kind of middle aged and silver-foxing it up, otherwise completey stiff and oddly grandiose in his presentation. |
