Go fuck yourself you hypocritical fucking asswipe. You do realize that you coach Alexander Ovechkin right?
Being only slightly hyperbolic when I say this was the most amazing goal Ive seen scored in a game. Heres Oates' comments

San Jose Sharks rookie Tomas Hertl received plaudits for scoring a stunning goal Tuesday against the New York Rangers.
However, not everyone was a fan of the between-the-legs shot that capped Hertl's four-goal night.
Washington Capitals coach Adam Oates took a shot Hertl on Thursday, saying the 19-year-old's move was showboating that has no business in the NHL.
"Don't disrespect the league," Oates said, according to the Washington Post. "I'm sure it was a rookie mistake."
Oates added, "I'm upset. I was just talking to (Capitals general manager) George (McPhee) and he said all the kids do that nowadays, which I understand. But would he have done it on his first goal? He hasn't scored yet tonight and he gets a breakaway, is he going to do that on his breakaway? We'll see.
Hertl's dramatic goal gave the Sharks an 8-2 lead at 12:05 of the third period, and the rookie did not play in the remainder of San Jose's 9-2 win.
"I think it was a little bit of a mood thing, which I'm sure they talked about, because they didn't play him after that," Oates said. "I'm glad the coach did that because this league, it will bite you if you're not sharp."
Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien viewed Hertl's goal from the opposite perspective.
"It was a pretty nice goal," Julien said, according to CSNNE.com. "I was just saying this morning that it's pretty unfortunate when there's a good hit in hockey, there seems to be players wanting revenge for a nice, clean hit. When a player scores a nice, pretty goal, the first thing that comes out of people's mouth is, 'Was he hot-dogging it?'
"It was a nice goal that he scored, so let's accept it. ... Hey, if he scores, it's a goal for his team ... big deal. I don't think we should be mad about those kinds of things if they're allowed in our game."

and heres a link to the goal http://youtu.be/z-a-XPZqYIw

Great point about him coaching Ovechkin, one of the biggest divas in the league.

The goal in question was awesome, and I'm usually an old coot when it comes to players acting like they've been there before. In this case, the kid scored. It wasn't like he showboated after doing something. He made an incredible move, and it worked. Good for him.

Instead of shitting on it like Oates did, the league should just celebrate Hertl's goal in every commercial they run this year. If there's a Goal of the Year award, just give it to the kid now because nothing will beat it.

Not only that but the kid is 19 years old and scored 4 goals in an NHL game, the last one being one of the best goals you'll ever see . God forbid the kid enjoy that a little bit . Just a real douche fucking comment by Oates.

The biggest point to make about the entire situation? Clearly the Rangers gave no fucks at the time.

Joe Thornton's comment about the situation is an NHL quote of the year candidate.

What was Thorton's quote? BTW, last night Edler on Vancouver destroyed this kid with a close to dirty check.

When the press turned his way, he then added: "I'd have my [penis] out if I scored four goals. I'd have my [penis] out, stroking it."

Joe Thornton on Sharks rookie Tomas Hertl: ‘I’d have my cock out’ if I scored four goals

EDIT: What Dan said.

Seeing as how Thornton is pretty much a peenus already that's not much of a stretch but that's a great line.

Nomination Denied.

Oates was my guy back in my Sega NHL Hockey days.

NHLPA '93 was one of my favorite games. Blackhawks and the Rangers were my teams. I had some blood-baths with Oates, Hull and the Blues.

You mean "New York team that happens to be blue" and "Chicago team that happens to be red." NHLPA didn't have the rights to the teams. I think it's the only EA hockey game where you can play as the late lamented Minnesota North Stars, or rather the Minnesota team that happens to be green and black.

Anyway, Oates and his creepy botox face don't get to say shit when he has Ovechkin, and the Canucks are shitheads as always.

Yup. That game. The New York Islanders were "Long Island" on that game. And you're correct in that it was the only game with the North Stars included. I actually liked NHLPA '93 better than NHL '94. They purchased the rights to the teams, but it seems like the gameplay quality decreased.

But hey, the early Madden games didn't have team licenses either, but we knew that the monster wearing #78 for the "blue and red" team was Bruce Smith.

You're forgetting the original EA NHL Hockey. Came out the year before NHLPA.

Forgot about that one. We didn't get a Sega Genesis until late '92 so NHLPA '93 and Bulls vs. Blazers were the "now" sports games of the time.
