watched that special and was cracking up listening to Wizzo and Cookie talkiing about inhaling the magic gas! And the 2 of them are cracking up! Missed that one as a yute!

went as a kid, the whole thing was weird. It was like 3 sets of bleacher seats, small, the guy telling you to scream when they came back from commercial and was kind of boring is what I remember. Nope, didnt win shit.

The next step from attending Bozo was a week (or 2?) on Romper Room. Neighbors down the street. (twins) made the cut.

I won a Little Mermaid handheld and a box of Matt's chocolate chip cookies. I was in a balance-a-book-on-your-head relay race and I cheated. My team still won.

Yeah, the whole set had a real shabby look to it. What a fucking disappointment. I lost my innocence on the day we attended. I was five years old and from then on I knew the entire world was cloaked in artifice.

It was disappointing to see the actual stage (I went in October 1994, ran in February 1995), but I wasn't completely disappointed with the world until about ten or eleven, and that took more than seeing the studios at channel 9.

The quality of the Bozo show dropped each time the size of the "Big Top Band" shrunk. In the end it was a guy on a synthesizer. Although I suppose the jump the shark moment was when Ringmaster Ned was replaced by Frazier Thomas. I never warmed to him...even on Garfield Goose.

My disillusionment has pretty much continued unabated since that fateful day at 2501 W. Bradley Place.

I think chris Hansen would be doing an investigation of that show today!

Frazier Thomas is legendary for his hatred of children. Great idea to become a puppeteer when you hate kids. It kind of reminds me of some accountants I know who hate numbers.

but they gave you something just for attending thanks to sponsorships. I think it was a pack of cookies or something.

The studio set was disappointing. There is a thin façade between magic and mundanity.

So, those of us who couldnt get around the 10 year waiting list were actually the lucky ones

I always get a kick out of the little girl who kept cheating at Bozo buckets and how Bozo handled it. good stuff.

Matt's are so good...but only the chocolate chip. never really cared for the peanut butter ones or their fig newtons

is Archway still in business ? I haven't seen those in years. the only ones i like were the soft cookies with the apricot center

I think you can still get Wildwood Grape at Jim's Original.

My parents bought Diet Rite until the other kids mocked me for it.
