In Tresty we trusty...yeah that's not gay at all. I overworked the Cutty thing in the Bears chat just to be annoying.

One thing I didn't agree with Scorehead on is the idea that this is a rebuilding year. Hiring a new coach is not always indicative of a rebuilding process. This is supposed to be a guy who can get you from point B to point C, instead it seems he got the Bears to the halfway point between B and C, then just returned all the way to point B.

Another reason that argument doesn't work is there are two other coaches from the newly hired coaching class of 2013 that are in the playoffs in their first year, with one (Arians) who barely missed out. IIRC, all three of those teams had losing records last year, while the Bears were a healthy 10-6. That those three teams finished better than the Bears did, despite being a bit more disadvantaged (arguably) from a personnel standpoint (there's a reason they had losing records last year), is all the more reason to criticize Trestman for this year's performance, and not to laud him for taking the team backwards from a wins and losses perspective. I am a Trestman fan, by the way, though not for long if we see more games like the collapses in Minn and Philly.

I was referring to the nickname, but yes, anytime you disagree with Scorehead, we are in agreement.

 I knew you were referring to the nickname, but I associate that with SH because I've only seen him use it, and then decided to just vent about his argument that the Bears are rebuilding. My bad for derailing the thread.

How hard is it to just call him Tressman?

As I've never said nor typed it, and am convinced that only closeted homosexuals would find it clever to do so, you have my full support for the suggestion/nomination.

I'm in full support of this nomination.

As an addendum, may we also include "Tresticles"?

The problem, Mr. Park Bryan, is that the abusers never realize the sarcasm associated with their mockers' words. Just look at the mockees.

I prefer a less nuanced approach that resonates with all parties.

Is there one single person who doesn't think that the Bears need to rebuild? Really? There will be major construction in Lake Forest in the offseason.

There's no such thing as rebuilding in the NFL. You find a competent QB and try to compete every year. This isn't baseball or basketball.

Tresty better rebuild that damn defense.

Honestly, who do you really want back except Briggs and Jennings?

Post subject:  Re: "Tresty"

I agree; I just wouldn't call it a "rebuild" in the sense that you don't try to compete. The Bears need to bring in totally new personnel on D, and they will be expected to compete, just as they were this year.

I think reload is better word to describe the NFL version of this.

Often times you can add a couple of well placed pieces and in one off season, you can contend.

In defense of James Thornton,he was one of the most ripped athletes I have ever stood next to. He took a picture with my son years ago. He seemed like a nice guy, just not doing much at TE.

I endorse this nomination, though this doesn't yet infuriate me as much as Brent Musburger's references to "Herbie," which I'm about to hear countless times tonight.

Not a lot going on north of the shoulders there.
