Didn't vote, and apparently won't ever vote, for Greg Maddux for the HOF.

I guess he is the authority of when the roid era exactly was.

I've got no problems with this. If you didn't do any PEDs, you definitely stood by and did nothing while others in the clubhouse stuck needles in their asses.

In a way I'm okay with this, as long as he is consistent. I agree with him, you don't know if Maddux did PEDs or not. He certainly could have been on something that helped with longevity as opposed to building bulk. It would have been nice if he would have juiced a bit in 2004 along with the rest of the Cubs...

Im ok in that if guys with names like Ruth, Williams, Wagner, Foxx,Mays, Aaron, etc didn't get unanimous votes I didn't expect Maddux to. While there isn't a 100% certainty he isn't a PED guy he's about as close as you can come in that era to saying he wasn't.

We care too much about percentages

And Rogue as much as I love Maddux and hope he was clean, you never know with pitchers. A lot of that stuff helped recovery time.

I think pitchers got off easy in the whole steroids thing

Oh and steroids were around in the 30s, that guy is naive as fuck

He's just some asshole that you never heard of yesterday and today you have, so mission accomplished.

It's very difficult to have a HoF stupider than basketball's, but baseball certainly does.

I don't have issue with his rationale, but then how does he exempt Morris, who played from 1978-1994? There a lot of "heavy suspicion" guys who played during this time frame, his career overlapped the Steroid Era concurrently

Dickheads like this are making it very easy for me to never give a fuck about the baseball hall of fame ever again.

Well, for one thing, Morris never faced guys like Canseco, McGwire, Belle, Palmeiro, Alomar, Mo Vaughn, and Juan Gonzalez .........

Olbermann just did a really nice job dismantling any possible angle Gurnick has used or could ever used based on the parameters Ken himself set up ... worth watching if it becomes available to you.

It was George Bush's fault?

Except for Roger Clemens (who made his own bed in a lot of ways), you are 100% correct.

I don't have any specific suspicions about pitchers but you have to have doubts and cannot just say "well, they weren't big". Look at a cheater like Armstrong in a different sport. Sure doping isn't roids or HGH but that guy for one sure has a pitcher build.

Peavy has to be a juicer

Olbermann should speak only about baseball. He's a savant.

Gagne also was caught

Maybe. He is probably the only one who knows for sure. Regardless, he will never be under as much scrutiny as some of the hitters were in the 90's and early 00's

You're talking Peavy right?

Gagne is pretty much for sure

Yes, Peavy. I know Gagne was caught, and that seems to be the only way pitchers face the heat like hitters did/do.

As 'The Steroid Era" is still now and will be for the future, I believe they should take his balott away.
