We all should have pitched in so Chas could have squares. Isn't that how his whole life works?

I'll try my best.

Either Walt = Ike, or Walt is very, very, very envious of Ike's posting style.

You tell me which is worse.

+1 -- a guy at my work stole your idea instead of trying to bust his butt on Friday filling the work sheet.

Its better for those who got in, if a rollover square hits, you wouldnt have won anyways, so gives you a second and maybe third shot at winning...

There couldn't be a more CSFMB way to run a squares pool.

I guess 2 weeks isnt enough time for some to decide if they want to drop the $10-$20 or $30 or a super bowl squares pool

How much more time did you feel would be needed?

What couldnt be more CSFMB is someone bitching about it, then the next person supporting them!

I was waiting to see if more squares filled up.

I just figured you would scrap the whole thing so I didn't want to go through the whole routine for nothing.

Post subject:  Re: CSFMB

I'm not bitching about it. I'm laughing about it. I saw the posts and decided not to get in at the time, and when I thought about it again the time had passed. Others may not have seen the posts until it was too late. Doesn't matter. We snoozed and lost.

But instead of the "well we don't have enough people 3 days before the game, so there are gonna be empty squares and if one wins we are gonna roll it over so somebody who met my deadline will win" why don't you get creative with it. Sell them for a higher fee. Take the extra cash and use it to help pay for the board instead of crying about how much it costs. If a late comer wins, tell them they only get 75% and the rest goes into the next quarter won by somebody who met the deadline. Or just donate it to the "when you guys start paying for it you can tell me how to run it" fund.

But leaving empty squares on a super bowl pool, especially an internet based one, 3 days before the game is just fucking dumb.

So, you want me to give you "A deal" to get you in?

Author:  Baby McNown [ Sat Feb 01, 2014 12:01 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: CSFMB

I"m not asking for any deal. Simply throwing out a way you could have filled at least some of the remaining square AND gotten some $ to help offset the costs of the board, or rewarded somebody who got in the pool in time. It's really not that difficult.

So someone gets to put in $5 per square for waiting longer?

You do realize its not a profit center for me?

and in your words "REWARDED" someone for getting into the pool ON TIME?

I will guess every single person who had the amazing foresight of 12 days to get in, is much happier with my version than giving someone else a chance to win for half of what they paid.

No dumbass. Charge more. Think McFly. Think.

But feel free to keep crying about people not meeting your deadline when you could still be selling squares right now and pulling the numbers in the morning based on tonights games. Hell you could sell them up until an hour before kickoff and use the scores from tonight's games. It's a fucking internet contest. It's not like we have to get a copy of the paper from the receptionist.

And ok so flip the word rewarded to "penalized" for the late comer.

Like I said. The most CSFMB way to run a squares contest ever.

once again, not a profit center , and 2 weeks is more than enough time.

if you cant spend $10, you arent spending $15.

I didn't say you were a profit center. I said a late fee would be helpful in defraying the costs of the website. If you aren't even open to that suggestion then stop playing the "you guys don't pay for it" card. If it's not something you want / feel comfortable doing then just say that. But don't discount what a posted as not a valid idea.
