A police sergeant sends a text to a 12-yr old girl asking her for sexy pictures, and misuses the police department database to dig up dirt on his girlfriend, and the city says the maximum discipline they can legally give him is a 30-day suspension? WTF? Most in the private sector would be fired IMMEDIATELY, and rightfully so.

kinda looking at this as 2 different issues!

1. Looking up to see if the GF has a record, maybe a perk of the job.

2. Sexting the 12 year old girl. prison time

He is currently serving his suspension days intermittently at the department’s discretion

So he doesn't even have to feel the pain of 30 days without a paycheck? Disgraceful.

Isn't it a crime in itself to send to or ask for text pics from a 12 year old?

Woodstock sucks. Half the town is on propane, the other half has boiler/air handler combos which sucks major ballsack.

I live here and do not know this pervert, who should be facing criminal charges and/or termination.

I recommend the tacos pastor at the Tip Top Cafe (a/k/a Taqueria La Placita).

Intriguing..... I am looking at a lot of homes that have this boiler bullshit and I don't like it but I know it works.....for hot air. I am not doing window units so I have to have have forced air conditioning. I may just have to hire you for a weekend or 2 to help me re-engineer the whole damn thing.

Radiant floor heating is the shit. It's really awesome. I would do that here if I could. Basically run tube under your floors and heat them up. It's comfortable, not nearly as dry as forced air is and hopefully relatively maintenance free.

I'm not a fan of fin tube heating. It's ugly, it leaks, it freezes on outside walls on super cold days... just an opinion.

The only thing I don't like about boilers is that they don't cool, so you need to have a central ac system anyhow. So, a lot of folks especially in Woodstock jam a Space Pak into the attic and flexlines around the house to provide central cooling. It works, it's just a pain in the dick and most of the rules for airflow are different so you really gotta know what you're doing.

What brand do you recommend?

Brand of Boiler? I don't really think it matters much. Its more about the installation.

But to force an answer to your question, for standard boilers I like Buderus. Munchkin makes one that can bolt onto the wall, its about 1/4 the size of comparable BTU output boilers and it high efficiency. Those are very cool.

Good to know. I am finishing my basement right now and we are going with tile. I was considering radiant. It's not crazy expensive but I bet it will be an extra 1K. I may just go forward with it now. I will never invite you over to sample it

Make sure you keep your water temps under 120 with tile. I have heard stories that tile cracks if water under it is over 140. THough I don't see any reason to ever have water that hot but if you have a boob for a contractor it can happen. Saw this twice this winter. The manufacturers say that 160 is ok. But like I say I've seen tile heave under that temp.

requires a boiler and a manifold, but I am sure you knew that.
