I'm a Prime "member" (button 48) bc I love the 2-day shipping. Im not a large customer relatively speaking (~15 orders in 2013) but you're allowed to invite family members so I feel it's worth it.

But, Amazon's use of FedEx SmartPost and UPS SurePost needs to quit ASAP. Do not allow FedEx/UPS to employ that for their packages. I pay the annual fee to avoid dealing with shitty USPS. No idea how passing a package from one behemoth firm to another makes sense supply chain wise. That's just asking for delays. I rather take my chances with little toy helicopters than SmartPost or SurePost.

At least they extended another Prime another month for the 1 day delay. Bitching works! :D

I'm a Prime member. Maybe Amazon's next move is to create their own delivery service.

My family is Prime as well. I think it is totally worth it. We probably order 50-75 things a year I would guess. Lots of times the stuff comes at 8pm but I guess that is an acceptable tradeoff.

Had prime for a year and enjoyed the quick deliveries. Had to drop it though since we did not use it enough to justify the cost.

Or just have the person order it for you and have it sent to your house

I love Amazon and Prime but not if they're going to use UPS SurePost and FedEx SmartPost for 2-day. Those two shitty services are unreliable. It's fine for standard but not 2-day.

in all seriousness i don't really understand what you're saying
i've had probably 100 deliveries made via Prime over the last few years, and not one of them was ever late

I never had an issue before either. But an order I made last Friday was sent UPS SurePost where UPS takes it from Kentucky to my local post office and then post office makes the delivery. FedEx has a similar service.

It's cheaper than having UPS/FedEx do the whole transaction. But it's more much unreliable. I googled the services and there were quite a few complaints during this past holiday season.

SmartPost sucks, yes.

But Amazon Prime has nothing to do with SmartPost. Where is the correlation?

Amazon used SmartPost for my supposed 2-day Prime shipment. Expectedly it's past the 2-day window and yet to be delivered. Hence the douchebagging.

Yeah, I would definitely call them and complain about that. You don't pay extra money for prime shipping for them to use shipping methods that take longer than 2 days.

Gotcha.

I've never had problems when ordering items marked as Prime. I've always gotten them on time, and none were through SmartPost.

Amazon is alright by me. Prime membership is top notch when you have a Kindle. You can "rent" a book per month another member bought. Some decent video streaming.
Only bad thing I have encountered is with the Older Kindle models,ie up to Kindle Fire 2nd gen there is a defect with the mini-usb port connecting to charge. It appears that they do not solder it correctly. Mine was a month past warranty when I called. They replaced mine no questions asked.

Post subject:  Re: Amazon

On the rare occasions that my prime stuff took longer than two business days, I was able to squeeze a 25$ gift certificate out of them per each late shipment. It doesn't happen often, but over three plus years the gift cards I've gotten in return for late shipments have exceeded a year's membership.

The last time I tried to ask for a 25$ card, the customer service guy told me the best he could do was five dollars. After ten minutes of haggling, I hung up on that cheap ass and called right back to speak with someone else. Five minutes later, I had a 25$ gift card credited to my account. Sometimes for non essential items, I actually hope the shipment is late since I prefer the 25$

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear you father haven't received their order yet.

I understand that you entrusted us to deliver this order on time and that in this case, we have not met your expectations. Please note that once the order is shipped out of our fulfillment center, it is the carrier's responsibility to deliver this order on time to our customer.

I have reviewed your order and the tracking information, there is still no indication that the order was lost, though the tracking information says that your package is still in transit.

I will follow up on your package with carrier, please wait within 24 hours. If carrier fails to locate the shipment, I will make sure to take necessary action right away. I will contact back as soon as I have an update.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Best regards,
Karl A.

One package will now be two days late and another a day late if not received today. No proactive compensation for their incompetent faith in UPS SurePost and FedEx SmartPost. Not encouraging.

Doesn't make sense for them to compensate before they can confirm it's definitely lost. The comp would be different whether it's lost or late.

End this sentence with a question mark and capitalize "order" and it'd be a letter from here.

Me: Thank you. Though while the lack of follow up wasn't ideal I am having issue with having a two orders in 2014 being late via Prime.

In 2013 none of my orders were late and arrived within the 2-day window. The use of FedEx and UPS partnerships with the UPS is awful. Reliability and tracking is terrible and the products do not show up on time.

I meant USPS. Sorry

Amazon:I understand that Daniel and we always strive to meet every delivery date that we offer, however there are always going to be delays and anything can't be perfect. I already forward the information to the Shipping Department and they will now take actions on this

My previous complaint right away they offered a free month. This 2nd time I e-mailed and they said they'd keep me updated on my late order. No update but products did arrive. Above is from a chat and I kept leaving the window open for them to compensate. Nothing. Fuck Amazon cheaping out. I'm their ideal customer as I'm not a volume buyer but subscribe to Prime.

They're trying to pass off their cheapness of using FedEx SmartPost and UPS Surepost onto the shippers. They very well know it's not the shipper's fault but their own for cheaping out. Such horseshit. Fucking lying fuckers.
