Was listening to the podcast today. They said the Bulls shouldn't have tried to win the Heat game because the Spurs kicked their ass last night and apparently they were tired from trying too hard or something. They basically don't think the Bulls should try to win every game. It's like they are personally offended every time this team beats a team better than them. I need to go on another extended not listening break I think. I'm sure this was covered in the show thread but I think they deserve a nomination here. The dumbest, most annoying opinion I've heard them espouse in awhile. |

So beating the World Champs means nothing but losing the next game has some type of meaning. Yeah, that's about par for the course with those two. |

This begs the question... which is it bernstine? Does the regular season matter or not? Did the Heat try or not? Do the Heat care or not, and if they don't care, is that bad, and if so are the Bulls wrong for caring? |

The only opinion he seems to be consistent on is its bad when the Bulls win and it's good when they lose. Seriously. |

FOTS lives in a theoretical world. It sounds good to say you "shouldn't try", but it simply doesn't work. Coaches and players are playing for stats and contracts, and many of them aren't wired to not try. I don't think Noah could take the floor and not try. Beyond that, it's a business. People pay money to see these games, and sponsors pay for air time. If GM's want to sell players and not field a competitive team, that's one thing. But the players and coaches aren't just gonna say "Fuck it. Let's play Scalabrine and if that white bastard even tries to box out, we'll cut his ass." |

Who was this character in the hospital? Why was he trying to kill Nordberg...and for whom? Did Ludwig lie to me? l didn't have any proof, but somehow, l didn't entirely trust him. So should the Bulls save their energy for the playoffs? Aren't the Heat clearly the eventual champions? |

I'm gonna have to secant this nomination. I'm sick to hell of his bullshit on the Bulls. This show is funny and all but goddamn is this topic getting tiresome. |

Rooting for "tank wins" is so December. Thibs ruined it. The Bulls are living to play and playing to win. Embrace the failure to tank. |

Bernsie did not get what the caller was trying to say. So if all that matters in championship then what does the season mean? Well was pointed out above that stats, contracts, jobs and money sure matter. The other thing is pride. You have to have pride in what you do. I mean realistically take Bernsie literally. Who has a chance to win it all? Miami only in his mind. OKC and San Antonio maybe and Terry gives them props. So wtf does everyone else play for besides cash, coffee and mail. It is fucking pride dickhead. If I was talented enough to be on a shit team in this league I would love to shove it up the "King's" ass every time I had the ball. Every fucking possession for a chance to posterize his ass just once. Are all these other teams supposed to just dance the narrative dance? |

Curious Hair wrote: Rooting for "tank wins" is so December. Thibs ruined it. The Bulls are living to play and playing to win. Embrace the failure to tank. Bernsie wasn't even advocating that. His tone suggested it was like the Bulls were offending his basketball sensibilities by winning games. I'm pretty sure Frank Costanza has a higher opinion of the Cubs than he does of the Bulls. |

The problem with voting B and B as DB of the week is that douchery is the show's very (unintended) essence, such that the only question I had after reading the post was "well, what about all the other weeks?" Denied for me. |

the point was that good teams don't treat a game in March against the Heat like it's game seven of the Finals. They expended so much they were completely gassed mentally/physically for the next game. Good teams don't do that. They said several times that neither of those games mattered for anything and I concur. |

So rename it "B&B of the week" Without the season there are no playoffs and definitely no championships. The season matters most. Just as James and/or the Heat not being interested. Can't be GOAT and not be interested when you lose. Jordan lived for playing against a team like the Bulls, all scrappy and screamy. He'd rip out their hearts, knaw on it, spit it out, and then stomp all over it. Again and again. |

It's lazy to just say they were gassed, and it's also not true, evidenced by their comeback. If they were gassed physically and mentally they would have lost by 40. |

But I also do not blame the Bulls for balls out against Heat. They got their ass kicked against SA due to hot shooting not because they were tired from the Heat game. Bad teams have pride. I understand Bernsie but the way he presents it in a way to make yelling at callers and so on is distasteful to me. I swear I could sense Terry trying to save some of these callers but just couldn't do it. Another thing there had to have been a memo as I hear a whole lot of how are you and hello how you doing without as much disdain. |
