Stop shoving this Kevin Love rumor down my throat. It is annoying as he'll watching you try to manufacture a story.

i made the mistake of having sportscenter on during my haircut sunday morning... all i remember is they spent 20 minutes on a human internest piece regarding tornado victims and then the next 10 on heat v. pacers.... no mention of hockey or of even the other playoff series.... funny that heat v. pacers is on ESPN/ABC.... i wonder if that was why they focused so much time on it?

As much as I hate the 99 million stories about LeBron's career I would prefer to hear those instead of listening to them try to create a story.

Was this your first time watching ESPN?

You never noticed them doing the same thing for:
Women's NCAA Basketball?
Tennis?
World Cup Soccer?
Any other fringe sport they carry.

best part of the rise of the sports-specific channels, watching NBA Gametime or Quick Pitch on MLB TV, there is no reason whatsoever to watch sportscenter or even ESPN news anymore

Remember when ESPN had arena football and really pushed hard to make arena football A Thing? Now it barely exists. I don't think the Chicago Rush are even around anymore. Are they? Who gives a fuck?

Not blindly.

They have the best radio shows M-F for the midday and afternoon time slots.

It is as simple as that.

first time in a long time watching sportscenter at least, i only watch espn for the actual sporting events themselves.... and their fantasy football show that runs sunday mornings... but the reasons you list combined with the east coast bias is why i no longer watch the channel for my sports news

100% correct, IMU.

I'm even listening to Mike & Mike on my way to work more often, because Mully is just so damn awful.

The ratings speak otherwise, Hatchetman. Mac wins where ever he goes and he's up against ESPN1000's weakest link. 670 does not have a solid show that appeals to everybody and entertains like ESPN does.

As I'm sure (All sport network) Bagels would agree: "This".

Funny thing is that both of my sons (& their friends) watch the league channels almost entirely to the exclusion of ESPN. ESPN is going to be in trouble soon imo.

I'm sure some desperate channel will overpay for the dumb assed XGames soon enough.

Just covering my tracks (backtracking)

I honestly didnt think of the sports specific ones and they are better (and should be since they are owned by the league they promote)

I was more thinking of the FoxSports NBCSN etc

It's just funny that I can get more honest analysis from the networks which are owned by the league's themselves compared to ESPN.

The problem is that ESPN is filled with idiotic commentary from hardcore analysts AND ex players. Even their big game analysts/play by play guys are unlistenable.

The problem of ex jocks attempting to broadcast is an industry wide issue.

Im entertained by Sportscenter and used to like the yelling at each other shows. When they start trying to do analysis I tune out.

I like Tony Kornheiser though. And Mike Greenberg.
