Ditches his incumbent team to build a super team in another city. Except he did in essay form instead of on TV so now he's a mythical hero instead of a front running douchebag. Fuck LeBron. Can't wait for him to fail. |

Just got home from a trip, just reading all the LeBron stuff. I don't know. I think people just have wanted to like LeBron for a while and they're jumping on this. Kinda feels like a husband leaving a wife and kids and going off and partying for 5 years and coming back cause now he's ready |

Fuck LeBron. Can't wait for him to fail. I agree. Seems like he cheated on his wife for 4 years, and was very public about it - but now he wrote his wife an apology letter and wants to come back home. And his wife now loves him even more because he decided to come back home after "going to college" to screw around at age.....26? |

Not sure where else to put this: Bill F'n Simmons is on SC right now talking about LeBron. Jeans, hoodie, unshaved. Everybody else is wearing a suit. I don't get this guy? |

Spanky if you really want to get him put on a nice sport coat, shave, and tuck in those pajamas. Now maybe you can lure him your way. |

Forgiveness is a wonderful thing. Redemption is one of the best part of sports. I see a lot of both in the LeBron situation. |

People have clearly been wanting to like him, and this is their excuse. I can't believe all the love for a guy because he signed with his old team after destroying their organization for four years. |

Not sure it is an excuse or WANTING to like him, you give the man credit for essentially admitting he made a mistake and is trying to make it right. You make your own choice if you think his words are sincere. I means it's Cleveland, you didnt run back for the weather or the fun. Look at todays athletes especially. The excuse list runs pretty deep, everything is thrown at the issue to lessen the impact. Guys claim they found god, treatment, etc etc. it's always something. Here is a guy who basically just told you he grew up, he realized the value of his real friends and family v the Fake ass Latin infused ass in Miami . It's not like he is running to an instant winner either. They have some kids on that team and there is no doubt, LeBron needs to lead that team. There is no Big 3! There is 1 guy and it's him. Not comparing it to ruining lives of an ex wife and kids like some of you did, as I think those scars go much deeper, but would like to see this type of effort and sincerity from more people, such as some of our elected officials that fuck us over and then go on to live fruitful and comfortable lives, such as the Ex Mayor daley (Happy Reg reader?) I applaude lebron for the effort. Don't even care if he wins or loses now, as I wanted him to lose while in Miami. |

I'm failing to find anything to criticize about the way he has handled it this time around. |

Seems to be a few of the "You secretly like him before" thoughts here. And to that I say, NO I DIDNT. I mean I didn't hate the guy, I recognize how awesome he is, I just didnt want him to win. On a Basketball note, if I was his coach, I would have him work on a Jordan like post game, he can still drive, but longevity is creeping into the picture, like his five head! |

I don't think anyone is criticizing him for what he did this year. Just saying it doesn't make him a saint, nor does it erase what he did four years ago. |

It is all getting reduced to the notion that "The Decision" was the only classless, arrogant, out of touch thing he ever did. Does anyone remember his press conference after losing to the Mavs when he told people to go back to their sad pathetic, lives now, he'd be just fine? |

He made a decision and used words that most athletes wouldn't use. Many found it to be refreshing. |

"The Decision", is the TV Show announcement....SPONSORED I might add! and while other things might not have been his idea, he came to Miami knowing the pre-parade would be there, the Not 1, Not 2, Not 3....BS was there... Whoever crafted the angle of the kid going off to college , partying and coming home is a good Spinmaster! Much better than the bumbling idiot the cubs have! |

FF, that's not how storylines work. here's how it stands: he was drafted as the hometown hero, gave the town excitement enough only to ditch them on national television for a team nobody cares about in a place that's basically vegas on the beach...goes there and wins championships and now wants to come home to build a champion there. what in the hell are you talking about, front running? when has cleveland ever been a "front running" town? ever? in the history of sports? he can think he's a mythical hero all he wants, i'm sure he does...the point is, cleveland was willing to forgive him and now has hope returning. i thought you were the "classy fan"...why would you want to see him fail...now? i doubt anyone has any sort of sympathy for the miami "fan". |

the way i look at it is that it's a nice story for cleveland. but it doesn't change my feelings that lebron is a total a+ 100% jerkoff. not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven, not eight, i will never appreciate. |

I resented James when he was younger due to all the hype types trying to compare him with MJ so early. Then the decision made it easy to hate him the Heat and Wade. Now he did a nice thing. I do not have to hate him but he is still a rival and I do not want him perceived as better than MJ. I do not hate him and and he can just play and I can politely root against. Not really too complicated. |

It has nothing to do with being a classy fan. It has everything to do with not being a Cavs fan or LeBron fan. Why would I want him to succeed? That part makes no sense. |
