Most recently Walgreen's, like 20 minutes ago. Bank tellers at Chase are notorious for this. Also fast food shops. |

I don't mind asking how my day is, but anything more than that from any cashier annoys the hell out of me. I do not need you to initiate small talk with me. Just do your job and let me get on with my day. Thanks. |

Depends on the presentation You can throw out a generic how's it going while still scanning Its the people who stop the line to see just how the hell you're doing |

Potbelly is spot on--it might be corporate policy to fill time as the sammie goes through the toaster. Even worse, Walgreen's has added the "Be Well" salutation even when you're leaving with a 1.75L jug of Popov vodka and a tube of generic Lamisil. Yuck. |
